If you ever become real person famous, I will celebrate you for writing these novels, too! They’re nothing to be ashamed of. Your author’s notes often made me laugh, and I enjoyed following your adventures as much as Peter’s and Gwen’s.

It’s a bittersweet ending, as if Peter and Gwen are surrendering to the idea that they’ll never be able to make their relationship work, while at the same time they’re planning to stay together, amidst this despair. I think they could find their way out of this perpetually destructive pattern, but at least they’re consistent.

Nice job with resolving the tension with Gwen’s mother and Johnson. Nice job with the shape-shifting villain. I like MJ. I missed Aunt May most of the time. I liked seeing Gwen step up and be proactive when she was the last one standing, and she used her mind to do it. I wanted more explanation from Richard Parker, but of course we never get it. Again. :) Great job with how you handled Connors: he was a great, in-character mix of contradictions, and I liked his slight redemption.

I didn’t quite follow how Peter regained his powers in the burning building, but I liked how all of the characters in the finale had pivotal things to do. And although the Chameleon had no explained motivations or backstory or purpose, you did a nice job of depicting his powers, quasi-explaining them, and connecting them to the mice.

I’ve enjoyed this pair of stories. Thank you!

LOL—I have had family members who have read my fanfic novels and really liked them tell me quite insistently that I should just file off the serial numbers and publish it as original fiction, too. And I’m like: you don’t get it. I would have to file the story itself to dust.

I’m so glad Gwen and Peter had a chance to relax with each other! (I wish you’d shown it in detail instead of telling it in such a quick summary, but it was nice to finally ease the tension a bit after nearly one and half novels of separation angst! :) Given its placement in this story, I can’t help feeling that the other shoe is going to drop again soon, but still, it’s a welcome reprieve. And nice job with action sequence, and the mistaken identity, and how their mundane identities was what got them into this situation. And great twist with Peter wrestling with potentially killing someone! ...ah, there’s the other shoe. :)

It’s never too late to be a real human, and I LOVE my Honda Fit. I have had it since 2012, it’s color is officially “Metallic Blue Raspberry” (WTF?) but is the most beautiful shade of turquoise, and yes, I am actually in love with my car, which is a feeling I have never felt for a car before. My husband said that he could see little emoji hearts exploding around me when I first laid eyes on it. I like the color so much that it makes me happy when I see the color reflect off things that I park near. I can try to say reasonable things about the good use of the internal space and the ample storage locations and the windows and the shape, but that would be crazy, because I would be writing a Honda Fit review in a fanfic that I am enjoying SO MUCH and YAY FINALLY they are releasing some of this tension between them and you are pushing all my buttons and I am so happy, thank you!

Seriously. Enjoying this story!

Okay, so I am really really enjoying your story (I’m not doing work I’m supposed to be doing, because I just want to sit here like a lump and do nothing but read your story), but I absolute LOVE your author’s notes. LOL

This is just as amazing as the first one. I love that Peter and Gwen finally got their act together.

One thing I really love about your writing is the dialogue, which is kind of ironic considering Peter and Gwen never really properly talk to each other. Your narration is always very good and in character - I love how you write Gwen

I really enjoyed reading this.

Truly.

But I wish I could see Officer Johnson's point of view when he realised that Peter, Spider-man, was innocent all this time.

Ensimismada chapter 27 . 1/14/2015
Reading your Spidey stories is having a serious negative impact on my chores and responsibilities, but they're just so well written! So happy you've posted them here.

This tale is a hell of a lot of fun, but it falls into the same trap I commented on with "Birds of a Feather" - namely, that a lot of conflict is created simply by having the characters choose not to talk to one another/not to be honest with one another. I got to the point where the pathos was much less effective, just because I was miffed at people for not talking to one another.

On the other hand, pretty much everything else here was awesome. Your supporting, original characters are interesting and real, you balance action with drama well (when the drama isn't too artificial because of failing to talk), and the sentence-to-sentence writing is really, really solid. Gwen is clever as ever, MJ is fairly interesting, Owen wasn't as annoying as I (or Gwen!) anticipated. I like that people are piecing things together, especially Gwen's mom. It's inconvenient and difficult and frankly, spot-on.

I also like how I kept expecting Chameleon to show up as one of those supporting characters or even as a main character, screwing everything up by being trusted. For example, I kept bracing for some of the lovely P/G interaction to have actually been Chameleon. And that never really happened, which itself subverted all my expectations! This was clever of you because it helped me, as a reader, feel something of the constant mistrust that the characters would have felt. Brava, brava.
