I'm working my way through all of your stories now and I really enjoyed this one! I loved the sword fighting scenes, I can never get enough of those and Arthur's nerves were completely understandable! Ivan was perfectly horrible and his father thinking he was wonderful just made me hate Ivan even more! The scenes in the dungeon with Arthur accepting everything and having his last words with Gwen and Lancelot were lovely. If only we had heard what he would have said to Merlin! All in all, I think this story was an really original idea, with a nice slow and steady build up, some lovely moments with the characters and a great ending! You are fab and are keeping my evenings interesting!

GOD! WHY TWO STORY WAS AWESOME! i fall for two story i'd read now and this one hell of a great story and th one i pleased to say really reach my interest of Merlin fanfiction story! I love the fight tournament,the relationship between Arthur and his knight,Merthur brofriendship and ArWen! The plot and the
scheme. All of it. Need more great story like this

that's a very nice concluding conversation between arthur and merlin - wait, are you wearing my clothes? and what about this dragon you told me i killed?
but athur, lancelot said you had something important to tell me?
and everybody's grinning... :D

i like this picture of arthur right on the edge of calm and control, facing his death. but i also like him losing his temper and bellowing about truth and justice... ;)
i love gwaine - add a dragon to the equation, and all promises are off!
points to lancelot, too - arthur broke the code to make them knights in the first place...

oh, good grief. it's funny/sad that arthur and merlin are sometimes at cross-purposes in these situations. and yeah, welcome to merlin's world - sometimes big-picture loyalty means specific-incident disobedience. ;)

wow. merlin using his magic against the pack of dogs is just funny.
and him turning himself in (i'm assuming as part of an elaborate plan on his part) is typical merlin. reminds me of him making sure agravaine's men aren't on arthur's trail in the caves outside ealdor - oh, hello! chase me instead... oh, wait, there's a dead end... :)

i'm reminded (in a good way) of the love triangle in the movie 'pearl harbor'. it's a very generous move by arthur... very tenderly written love scene. just, awwwww...

oh, ouch. that reaction of arthur's to the news of merlin's death was absolutely beautiful. well, then, he's waiting for me. two steps ahead. :'-)
oh, well, okay - at least arthur expresses the honorable wish for peace to lancelot - too bad bayard's not overhearing this...
i kind of like the idea of gwaine promising he's going to kill ivan no matter what. he'd do it, too.

completely tangential thought. what if arthur was allowed to write a last letter to his father, and takes the high road of asking uther not to go to war over this... and then maybe bayard reads it on the sly and does some thinking of his own... okay, yeah, i know this fic is already finished. just a thought. ;)

ok, let's not go with full-frontal-assault... but these guys are a resourceful bunch (and only one of them knows to wait on merlin), maybe they should at least be postulating jail-break ideas? even if they're completely off-the-wall (gwaine)...
