Very interesting concept! I like how you show Hel having trouble fitting in. One thing of critique. I notice you do this a lot:

"Just this once." he said.

When instead you're suppose to do this: "Just this once," he said. If you're not going to capitalize the pronoun, e.g "he," then you must use a comma. Fix this issue, and your writing with improve mightily from it.
