I liked how your insight into characters made you place Shikamaru beside Naruto at this moment since it's true he's the one person who can sympathize properly.
To take advice from your profile page, I'll truthfully say what I think you could've done without: the second to last passage, the long one, was partially unnecessary since you managed to invoke those emotions in the reader, so it was surplus to write them down for us. Look into Hemingway's 'iceberg theory'. ;)
But the last sentence killed it (in a good way). :)

Wow... That was a really powerful piece. I liked the suspense of who the man is. That was really well done.
I like Naruto's conclusion, because that's all that really matters.
