Reviews for Glass Silence
Guest chapter 9 . 7/7
Zarrene,
I am glad you exist. I am glad that your mind exists. Lemme tell you why your work matters a lot beyonf being an absolute mental and literary pleasure. This year has been a little less than kind to me. Suffice to say that Im living in a home (more like a house?) with madness close to as living in the Malfoy manor of your creation. I am dealing with both my parents' mental and physical breakdowns, after a year of losing my job, health, everything I have. I didnt have an Andromeda on a lift to offer me the opportunity of a lifetime, so I was struggling with finding peace in any manner, peace enough to keep me sane. HP books always gave me comfort when I felt like this, but going back to them each time life crushes me down and those setbacks not being few, i think those books have their quota of comfort full, not serving me anymore. Being an adult of 28 years, i was looking for sth to comfort me as a blanket comforts a child. Then, i discovered this story. I am having moments of peace within Hellfire, thanks to your words. So, please know that your work matters beyond being a very good piece of art; it is therapeutic as well. Keep writing. We have a saying in Turkish which translates into "I am glad you exist". Let your pen (quill in this case I guess) prosper!
VirginiaGreer chapter 42 . 6/30
So I stumbled across this summary. And after a few clicks I doubled back. Then, when half way through I realised, i had read this story before. Many eons ago, but it went further than it did last time. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to stumble upon this story again. Complete! Well done. Definitely in my top 2 favourite stories. Well done. You finished in 2012? You’ve had plenty of resting time, start something new and equally fantastic!
Greengob65 chapter 42 . 6/14
I just wanted to say how much I loved this story! I think this is one of the only Bellamione stories that had a canon Bellatrix and a happy ending, most of them involve Rabastan forcing her to do everything via marriage contracts but I really enjoyed the slow angsty fall in love with a murdering psychopath. I am also EXTREMELY glad that I was able to read this in one shot and actually have it be completed, although I’m sure that had I read this a few years ago I would’ve been one of those dedicated readers begging for more! Keep up the good work and thanks again for the amazing story!
RoosterHawk chapter 42 . 3/26

fortunaflying chapter 42 . 3/16
I have quite the list of things I need to say in this review, but I'll break tradition and begin with the end: the last chapter of this story made me cry. Twice. It was so beautiful and raw and gratifying all at the same time. I often feel that authors make the mistake of closing things up too quickly, leaving loose ends hanging and plot holes gaping, or sometimes it's just very dissatisfying, for lack of a better word. With this story, I loved the ending particularly because it did not in any way feel rushed or hurried. We got closure, the characters got closure- I don't believe in 'perfect', but I have to say that this was pretty darn close. Needless to say, I adored this. I honestly have so much respect for you as a writer, for a sizable number of reasons. You somehow got me incredibly invested in the relationships between Hermione and the other Black sisters, even though I don't ship Andromeda/Hermione and I barely ship Cissamione. First with Andromeda and Hermione- I thought they were so perfect together. Andromeda was an amazing teacher, Hermione felt safe with her, and she seemed the most reliable of the three sisters. Then Narcissa and Hermione- god, their relationship was just breathtaking. Every moment that they were together was exotic and exciting and so passionate. Each time, I kept thinking that there was no way I was going to be able to enjoy the next ship in line because each once was just TOO well-written, but each and every time I found myself loving the new pairing more than the last. Anyways, I'm convinced you're magical. Moving on-
I'm also dying at the fact that you used THREE SEPARATE TROPES in this fic, one for each Hermione/sister pairing: teacher/student, Fake Relationship, and whatever Bellatrix and Hermione had. I don't even have a name for it at this point. Now that I think about it, you probably used countless others that my simple Muggle mind just couldn't pick up on.
Jokes aside, this is amazing. There were almost no spelling/grammar errors, it was well-paced, and the way you used literary devices and the like didn't break up the flow of the story at all- on the contrary; it contributed to the plot and the overall effect it had. Your use of magic as a plot device was very creative- I'd say you've done J. K. Rowling more than proud. I think, more than anything, the reason why I love this fic so much might be that you made very clear the differences between each of the sisters' relationship with Hermione. It didn't feel repetitive, it felt new each time, and I really appreciate that you took the time to do that. Speaking of taking the time to do stuff- this story is 42 chapters, 290,840 words, and took you 5 and a half fucking years. If ANYONE can manage to be unimpressed with that, I will print out this fic onto paper and smack them with the solid stack of paper I would end up with. Also, another thing I love- you didn't overdo the sex- you sort of let it come into play where it was needed and where it would be relevant to the story. I know I couldn't write smut like this if my life depended on it, so once again I praise you and your holy talent. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, and sorry for the long review!
Kurojistou chapter 36 . 1/3
I love how it’s all getting it on and then Bellatrix asshole comments are just way too humorous for me to stay in the mood lol
Kurojistou chapter 32 . 1/3
Damn hermione back at the shenanigans again.
ecags chapter 42 . 12/15/2019
I loved this so so so much. At first I was hesitant, since I definitely came for BellaMione and didn't know if I was interested in the way you wanted to tell your story. But dear God, how I fell in love with Narcissa, I actually cried. Bellatrix remains my favorite, though, but Jesus. I was saying to myself that Narcissa should come back, and this instant! I applaud you for your writing, for actually staying realistic and for the way you detailed this story into being absolutely breathtaking.
Nut Toxx chapter 42 . 12/13/2019
I have a bittersweet taste ... I've loved the story ... but the part with Bella ... doesn't end up "squaring." I fell in love with that Narcissa and that Hermione. And nothing and no one can overcome them.
Nut Toxx chapter 22 . 12/12/2019
I think I don't want to continue with the story. I think I've fallen in love with this Narcissa and the couple they both do. I'm sad.
Last Harlequin chapter 5 . 12/2/2019
There's a pace to this that has me waiting on baited breath and giggling like a school child whenever something happens. It is a pleasant feeling to be able to see just far enough ahead to be eager, but not so far as to become bored or feel the story dragging. I do so look forward to the last black sister. I may not be reviewing every chapter from this point on, but I dare say I'll not have stopped reading.
Last Harlequin chapter 4 . 12/2/2019
What an absolutely tantalizing invitation. I really like Narcissa, which is refreshing, but not unexpected. Your writing style lends itself well to compelling characters.
Last Harlequin chapter 3 . 12/2/2019
Alright, deviating from Rowling's magic system toward a more traditional idea of magic has my interest, you've got me. That said, this story has a very powerful feeling of Vampirism, in that "young powerless person in thrall to an wealthy, powerful, constructively charismatic, subtly manipulative, secretly at least slightly unhinged much older person" kind of way that is very indicative of like Anne Rice's canon, or the original Dracula. That's more than a little interesting, but also continues that creeping discomfort that I had in the last 2 chapters.
Last Harlequin chapter 2 . 12/2/2019
Interesting women, the power dynamic is a little unsettling in this story, but I'm feeling like that's part of "The Point" so I've stuck a pin in it.
Last Harlequin chapter 1 . 12/2/2019
Not my usual kind of story, not my usual genre of choice, but sure, I'll give this a shot.
