Intriguing story- would love to see it continue.

I loved the ending, that was nicely done. Never thought of it that way but I have to agree that in the looks department it's believable. Great work!

So he is their child...Why does Merlin wantts him dead! Is it cuz he is Arthur's downfall!?

Holy haunting ending Batman! Wow! I'll think of this as an epilogue of a possible future. Because if they changed the past, maybe there's a chance for Mordred? Ooooh.

I'm not sure about the whole Modred being Merlin's and Morgana's child bit ... but somehow you pulled it off. Obviously there's a lot of questions mucking about like how...? but lets leave that to speculation. You write it really well, and throughout we see a bit of a hint of a twisted darkside of Merlin's. Though I wonder if he would really sacrifice his own son, if he knew that Modred was his son, all for Albion, all for Camelot? Isn't that a dark thought

I enjoyed reading your story. To me it's closer to the legend than anything else save for some twists. And so magical. Merlin is Mordred's father in another time? And Merlin wished him dead? Because of Arthur/Mordred's destiny? Oh, my curiosity is aroused. Would appreciate if you'll have this story. Thanks for writing.

I can't even...

Do you know how absolutely BEAUTIFUL this is? At more than one point, I swear tears welled in my eyes, simply because this is all and everything I want the BBC show to amount to, in the end. Sweet Jesus, if they took this story and made those three (rumored?) films out of it, what a trilogy it would make! It is SOO perfect! The characterizations, the descriptions, the Old Religion Lore (!), but most of all, the GROWTH each and every character went through, and especially Morgana's and Merlin's!

You cannot even BEGIN to understand how happy this has made me, and warmed my poor and weary college student's heart! I've never liked what the BBC show has done to Morgana' character, but after this story, I see that the reckless burning fever and hatred she has for Camelot's throne is phase of immaturity she had to go through in order to grow and solidify into the friggin badass High Priestess with HER (gotta love that)people's future at the forefront of her mind-superseding her own personal agendas. And I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Arthur has grown too-and that Merlin helped Morgana in that journey such a vital way.

In the Merlin fandom, I can't tell you how many slash fics are out there. The VAST VAST majority of them. Not that slash is bad. I'm a slash fan myself in many other fandoms, but for Merlin I can't see it as anything more than platonic. So imagine my despair, wading through these fics, trying to find a halfway decent AU story that's not only multi-chapter, but serious and more than just a P0rn show...and Merlin/Morgana centered!

And then when I stumbled upon this one! Ah the Mergana feels! Thank you! Thank you SOO much for writing this lovely lovely piece of perfection. I hope you decide to do more Merlin/Morgana! You do it so well!
