Very good.
everdragon chapter 1 . 5/15/2017
That storys really interesting, and not what I expected
I don't know if it's still relevant but were vs. where:
Where is location, the place someone is. For example: Where is he? He's at the school. School is the location, it is where the individual is.
were is past tense, and relativly temporary. Was is used for more permanent things ( I think, ironically, as English is my first languge this is actually hard). For example: We were there. That indicated that the people were at a place in time, or an event. Vs: I was a teacher. A teacher is a more permanent position than location.
I hope that helps? :)
Ava Simbelmyne chapter 1 . 3/22/2017
where, is like where is something (the place)
were, is like "were you going somewhere." Some WHERE being a place...were being (?) lol, not a place. (now that I try to explain were its hard... just know that Where is a place...were is not) XD
I'm English native...and cant explain XD cracks me up... hope this helps any way.

Emmel Doll chapter 1 . 2/10/2014
Hi

Someone probably already told you, but "where" is a location. Like "Where are you?" is like asking someone their location. "Were" is the past tense of the verc "to be" at plural. It's an irregular verb, you can look it up ;)
And I love your stories (Chains, For You ans Owned), they are awesome!

Thank you very much
Excalibur.vs.Riptide chapter 1 . 2/5/2014
This was really good. I'd explain the where/were thing but the other reviewers already have. Your English is amazing by the way. Honestly, if it weren't for the lack of contractions, I would've thought you were lying. That's one thing about writing in English, contractions (such as I'm, You're, We're, I'd, I'll, I've, You've, aren't, shouldn't, can't and so on) are really helpful if you want to make your writing sound more fluid. Especially in dialogue. It's a huge tell if some one's first language isn't English if they don't have contractions. And again, you did an amazing job, and another chapter would not go unappreciated.
Belle'Masque chapter 1 . 4/21/2013
So you did write a sequel! Hehe! Silly me!

I'm not sure if someone has explained this to you yet, but here goes;-
"were" is the past tense of an action, "they 'were' happy" - it used for a plural term, for more than one subject.
"where" is the asking of a place, it is asking where something is. Use the 'here' in 'where' to remember that it refers to the place and location of something.

MORE?! PPPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE! You haven't written of them actually doing it yet! So please continue!

Are you going to write another one of this series? I really enjoyed them both and would love more.
serenityselena chapter 1 . 3/21/2013
great sequel :)
Kyuubiluver chapter 1 . 1/25/2013
I really love your writings. They are very interesting and I enjoy each and every one. I love the conclusion to Chains. It was very well written and wrapped things up very nicely.
As for the where and were part, where is used for a place, usually used in a question. For example: "Where did he go?" "This is where I was taken."

Were, on the other hand, is used in past tense. Example: "Were we lost?" "We were trapped in Canada."

There is also We're, which is a combo of we are. Only to be used if you want to say We are in a sentence. Example: "We're married", also know as "We are married"

Hope this helps.

..finally..confession time...:) love the sequel
PhoenixVenom chapter 1 . 8/9/2012
To answer your question; 'were' is the past plural form of 'is', or 'to be', ex: "We were going to school.", while 'where' is a means of determining location, either as a question, or part of explaining. Ex.: "Where are you?" "The place where he was found"
I hope that was helpful to you; I'm not a native English speaker either, but I figured I could give explaining this a shot since I know the answer. Hopefully the explanation wasn't too confusing.
Fate's Silver Chain chapter 1 . 8/2/2012
This was a brilliant sequel! Well done!

'Where' is used for a place, whilst 'were' is used as a conjunctive or as a result of something. Hope that helps!
SCORPIAssassin chapter 1 . 8/2/2012
Ok so its sooooo amazing that you actually fulfilled my request:) and here it is he difference between Were and Where :)

Were: "Were you on that boat?" (Past-tense, often used to phrase questions)

Where: "Where are you going tonight" (Place)
