There so many things I love about your work!
I just still can't process what a work you did making this absolutely marvelous filled with details alternative universe still keeping it believable to happen with these characters. It's so pleasant to see them in different light and how they develop. Some of it was really missing in original ME...
While being about Shenko relationships ofc i appreciate so much the little details about the squad members, the humour (omg Wrex scenes are outstanding!)
I love your Ashley. So girly and sincere, not always behaving appropriate even being a military.
I love how deep the conflicts lie and how you make everything going with its own pace, not making characters just jump from one condition to the other without any transition (what I hate about most fics...)
Of course I love the angsty shit between Shep and Kaidan. Obviously always sighing when they had soo foolish arguments and even break-ups in their youth but hell that's normal for yesterday teenagers and they needed to experience all that to grow and mature. I loved so much watching them develop!
What is kind of not really highlited in original ME is subordination issues. I loved every bit of the story to see the struggle with not breaking regs
I'm so excited about the plot! How you developed the story of The Skylian Blitz, Akuze adding shades of grey to the events which made Shep or Jarell as well in this case heroes in the eyes of people.
My heart ached on the episodes with the beach tradition guys had. I love this parts so much!
Loving Liara and most asari in original ME, I still adored your variant of Shepard with her issues with joining minds and being cautious.
Dr Chakwas character is another treasure..
Your work is a genuine masterpiece. I already know I will come back to this story.
I replayed ME in 2020 and felt so good to dive into this world that I couldn't resist checking out fanfiction updates on ME universe. I read "In My Life" in three days during a holiday so made it all in one place while it has been being written in 7 fucking years! And apart from the great story I felt so touched following little personal details about your life you in comments to the chapters, they are an absolute treasure. I mean wow 7 years since you started...
You're an amazing writer. Of course I hope that you'll find inspiration to finish this huuuge work, but only if your heart still has a place for the story. Thank you for all the emotions you gave me and I wish you all the best. Take care

Welcome back!
First, let me say I like that didn't follow the game exactly. It was a good choice and I respect you for trying it. I'm still sad that Lisa didn't save everyone though. Especially Thane. But I think I understand why. And at least Tali and Garrus survived, I don't think I could have stayed as enthusiastic about this story if either one of them had died on the Collector Base.
I hope to read more soon!

When you adopt somebody at 16 to expect a brother sister relationship is crazy she’s out of her mind with it totally seems like something a parent would do

Very good story I like the relationship are usually avoid a link of stories I never liked his character which is one reason why that I avoided this story but it’s really good I like it

I love this part so much:

Kaidan could stay there all day, holding her until he got completely accustomed to the feel of her biotics. Instead, he watched her walk away to the Normandy as he thought of everything he wanted to tell her but hadn't — that he cared about her, that he hoped Horizon was in the past, that these last few days had reminded him of how good they were together and how much he liked being at her side, that he wished he could come back to the Normandy with her.

She had already boarded and the airlock sealed shut. He hadn't said anything. He was going back to the Alliance and she was going to her death. Again. This was how it ended for them. Neither him nor Liara could give her anything to hope for or to come back to. They failed her, but she wouldn't fail them. She was going to make the ultimate sacrifice to rid the galaxy from the collectors. And he was going to spend the rest of his days mourning her."

It's heartbreaking and perfect and captures their feelings for each other so well. I just love it to bits. *sob*

The line about Kaidan not being able to give Shepard such unconditional love yet was beyond sad. The hug at the end just yanks my heartstrings even more.

I always found Liara a little on the creepy/stalker side of things, so Kaidan's sentiments match my own in this chapter. I'm still enjoying the slow process of Shepard and Kaidan trying to find their fett underneath them again, although I'm curious to see how you (and Kaidan) are going to handle the suicide mission through the Omega 4 relay.

At last, Kaidan is getting out of his own head and starting to think of Lisa! It felt cathartic for her to finally tell her friends how she was feeling about her resurrection. Maybe now that it’s not stewing inside her she can start to process her emotions and trauma (and maybe Kaidan can help...).

So happy you're still writing this - I need to know how it all ends for these two! I love your Shepard so very, very much and she's such a well developed character with motivations that feel real. Wonderful, as always. :)

So I’m totally new to the wonderful universe of Mass Effect and only just finished playing through ME 1-3 for the first time a couple days ago.
So that being said, this is the first ME fanfic I’ve read ever...and I love it so much. You have set the bar high my friend and I fear that many others that I read will pale in comparison. I look forward to more of this story!
