It's a little disconcerting that you are only now giving her character flaws or at least openly acknowledging them. Yeah you gave a naive and irresponsible child a whole lot of power but exploring what happens because of that would likely be more interesting than you backtracking and adding angst just to give the story more conflict and drama.
