This was a great story. I loved John's cool head in the face of all things bizarre. I think Sherlock took an already levelheaded person and then completely shattered any latent surprise function. My favorite line probably has to be all the way back in the first chapter. "Excuse me. Do you know how many Earth threatening alien invasions the British have quietly swept under the rug?" I scared a squirrel out of the nearby tree by laughing so hard.

(Just an irrelevant side note since you seemed to enjoy poking fun at British/American differences: Lemonade is completely different. In the United States, it's typically made by squeezing lemons into water and stirring in sugar to balance out any sourness. You know it's good if it's a pale yellow and there's pulp floating around. They also make it where you can stir in a powder, like with koolaid, and sometimes they'll give it a pink coloration or change it in some other way and sell it in bottles. However, even the less fresh and delicious variations all taste of lemon. In England, I ordered a lemonade and was handed a Sprite with a lime on the the side. My reaction was highly reminiscent of John when confronted with his tea or jelly. While never considering myself too picky with lemonade, that was in no way, shape or form lemonade. It is a large and often overlooked difference between the two countries that I thought might interest you. [I apologized this came across too rant like.])

What about Civil War? I'd love to see the Avenger's reaction to John's evil twin. Of course he's not actually evil, but one of them has to be the evil twin. It would be amusing to see him try and argue that John's the evil one.

The story after this is really good, however I would have included a scene where Mycroft confronts tony and accuses him of the emotional equivalent of murder... but that's just me.

Really loving the story so far, but we Americans tend to say 'sweaters' instead of 'jumpers', not a big deal but its just a little cultural hitch. I keep forgetting that John isn't originally from the MCU fandom because of the way its written, I really like it though! He integrates with everyone's crazy so well, all that Sherlock experience makes him an excellent babysitter for them. Keep up the good work!

A very goof story..

Don't worry. The "tea and coffee" tray sounded about on par with most similar offerings. The "box" of hot water is weird to me, most hot liquids I encounter end up in at least vaguely cylindrical containers of some sort, if not shitty little plastic or tin "teapots", but for all I know that could be a military thing.
Honestly if the water was actually hot enough, that was a remarkably good spread for shitty brand choices.
(This is also why I carry my own sealed teabags, waste of packaging be damned. You can almost always get hot water with haggling, and if their tea is good fine but at least this way I have mine if they only have vaguely-tea-waste-like-powder-dust.)
