Oh no! That's so very sad an development with poor Boromir - although, I think, quite realistic for if he got the Ring (or rather: the ring got him). Can't wait for an update, for I especially like the idea of the to-be-reunited (?) fellowship and the addition of Faramir.

Again, a very good chapter. What I am not so sure about is if Aragorn would be so open about what the Isildur's Bane - remember, he had never met Faramir before - and if Boromir would be so completely corrupted by the One Ring so very fast. But otherwise a very nice chapter. Thank you.

Aaaaahhhhhh! Best AU fic ever! I love how you're portraying how easily corrupted Boromir is, and I'm glad you killed off Denethor (for more reasons than just that he's a jerk)! And now they're headed to Rohan - which means they both meet Eowyn! I've heard of AU fics where Eowyn meets Faramir before she meets Aragorn, and of course she meets Aragorn first in canon, but I don't know if anyone's ever had her meet both at the same time! Now this will be an interesting twist on that whole love triangle. Just please keep Eowyn and Faramir together, they're soulmates! I hope Eowyn gets to fight too. Can't wait to see where this is going!

This is a thrilling concept, and very well-executed! I love the way you tweaked the events, and I can certainly see Aragorn pursuing Boromir to try to salvage the mission before he got to the city. I love your use of Faramir's visions, and the dread it inspired. I also appreciate your characterization of Denethor, that he was sharp enough to know that Boromir was hiding something from him. I've been wondering about the prospect of the ring coming to Gondor, and the conflict the brothers were bound to have over it. Thus it was very satisfying to read this fic. But not satisfying enough, I'm afraid, because I'm already anxious for more! Thank you for sharing this, and I look forward to the coming chapters.
