That was intense. For a second there, I was actually afraid you'd have Liara killed. The signs were there and it looked pretty grim. Glad to see it didn't happen.

It's an interesting take on a character and her darker side. I have hard time imagining that Liara ever got quite this dark in the game itself, but it's an interesting exploration nonetheless. And I do love seeing bad ass and very competent Liara. So yeah, I had a good time reading this. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Very kickass Liara portrayal!

As I said in one of my CTWYCD postings, I'm quite fascinated by this subplot that has become a beautiful main plot. Just read through the whole thing again and never lost the thrill of it. It's sort of a dynamic dark scifi/thriller/mystery/adventure thing that gets under my skin. Really exciting.

Dam I love this bad ass Liara that you are writing. It's nice to see what she had gotten up to while Shepard was gone, instead of it only being mentioned in a few short sentences.

Oh this was interesting! I really like your glimpse at a somewhat ruthless and savvy Liara. It really suits her Shadow Broker persona. Kind intrigue-y! You have a really nice suspenseful style of writing.

I loved how Liara killed her. I enjoyed it waaay too much and it was such a novel murder method :P I like your Liara, and the way you write her.

HOLY BALLS. I said wouldn't review until I got home so that should tell you how much I liked this. This was amazing! You have such a complete understanding of Liara as a character- here she is cold brutally efficient with just a touch of compassion too. You've captured what makes her a fantastic character. The narrative is strong and smooth. Please say there will be more!

Great job. I really enjoy ruthless Liara, and you do see glimpses of that in 2 and 3. And she's badass here.

Heh, I didn't expect this to be continued. Awesome surprise. :) Great job with Liara in this one again, that scientist background seems like an amazing asset in her Broker work. Cold, calculating, ruthless, but with just a little drop of mercy to let Allen walk away, an enchanting combination.

Well done. You've really capture the spirit of Shadow Broker Liara.

I just have to say that Liara is SCARY (in an awesome way) and I love it because we get hints about this side of her in ME2 LotSB, but we never really see much of it in ME3 (except in the beginning, when she kills those troops cool as a cucumber, and I'm like HELL YEAH LIARA - then we never see that again). I think you've captured her voice perfectly- scholarly and learned, with a recently acquired hint of coldness. Excellent work here!

On some level, I think I prefer the ruthless Liara to the shy and demure archeologist, especially when she acts like in this story. That was several shades of awesome. And it was so very in character for Liara to give Livia the opportunity to avoid the unpleasantness of dying.

Also, PJ Harvey's song as the story title? Yeah, that got my attention immediately.
