I know I'm basically repeating myself over and over again, but I really can't emphasize enough how down right AMAZING your ability to understand Damon's character is. You honestly have in completely pegged.
The big where Damon was thinking about committing suicide literally had me screaming at my computer screen. It took my really long to calm down. Longer than I would like to admit :P

As usual, you have me battling a whole bunch of emotions throughout the entire time I read your work, and as exhausting as it may be...I love every second of it. You truly have an admirable gift Jenn.

Another amazing one shot. Spotless Mind ina beautiful, fascinating movie and that concept applied here, wow. Heart wrenching. But love the happy ending, that some things you jus can't forget, no matter how much you want to or how hard you try. Lovely

It's wonderfully written, and although the story itself is kind of sad, it's just how I can imagine Damon would feel if he'd really left MF and Elena behind. Thank you for the happy ending though :) I'm a total sucker for that lol

Stefan's demand in 4x10 that Rebekah erase his memories of Elena reminded me of this wonderful story which I fully intended to review 'soon'. Well that day is definitely here. Such a contrast between Damon's desperate plea for some forgetfulness and Stefan's which was intended to hurt Elena even more than to heal his own pain.

"If he's left an unfillable hole inside her even one tiny fraction of the size of the gaping chasm she's left in him" Heartbreaking and beautifully written. But as Jeremy told Damon back in season 1. "You can compel me but it doesn't fix what's really wrong." The gaping holes in Damon's memory only compound the hole that is still there, now doubly painful, because he has no idea what the solution might be. "In the end all he wants is to stop wanting." Stated so powerfully.

One of the things I really like about compulsion is that the memories are still there, just sequestered away in a black box. It's beautiful how Damon's love is powerful enough to open even that seemingly inaccessible box. As Damon said, there is such a thing as heaven on earth. What he hadn't yet realized was that it rewards the good in us. Heaven acknowledged his love and brought Elena to him,

Absolutely wonderful! This is exactly how I would envision Damon acting if he ever *actually* left MF. Rushing off to read "Forever" right now!

That would seem atypical for Damon. He hung on for Katherine for 145 years.

This was really great :) The pace and flow of the story felt brilliant and not in any way choppy or rushed. I just wanna hug Damon for what he went through, and that he made himself forget everything was heartbreaking, but true loves does really win in the end it seems ;) Great story! And I will def read more of your stuff!

Oh my...this was heartbreaking, but so good. As always, you capture Damon's turbulent emotions with an eloquence that leaves the reader breathless and on the edge of their seat. That last scene, where he's contemplating suicide...it was written perfectly. It was as if I could feel Damon's pain and weariness. My heart ached and I was like "No-no-no-no!" But, then she came for him and it was a moment that could easily be summed up in a word; epic.

Beautiful work, Jenn. You're spectacular. My musie is very jealous right now! ;) lol!
