Can't deal with all those emotions!you brings tears in my eyes! This was by far the best Fanfiction I ever read about the Father/son relationship between those two. I know that you actually take some référence from the initial letter but this was... I can't write all the emotions you make me feel!
I think their relationship is this difficult I mean they can't tell their true feeling even with when Bruce decided to adopted Dick. This scene too was... Well like your fanfiction(?)
