I feel both the sensei and team mates got off to easy for all but abandoning sakura and rushing into a fight with 3 kids who never really fought yet. If i was sakura id be pissed at the team mates and the stupid sensei

It seems unlikely that they would still be Genin. The chunnin exams are held every 6 months and I would assume that the Jounin exams are held maybe yearly. At the levels you are portraying them it seems like they would have been promoted.
Also this Sakura seems like someone who would do anything to achieve her goal- in this case being the youngest person in ANBU she wouldn’t be happy to just stay a Genin even if she and her team got high ranking missions that as Genin they shouldn’t be getting; the Hokage wouldn’t bring in a Genin team as backup for what could turn into an A or S class mission, he would ask for and send Jounin.

Other than that it’s a good story and concept.

Not even 5 chapters in & hundreds die, the character is now a heartbroken orphan & we see a potential villain as human, but broken as well.

Ughh I don’t think I can read on anymore. I won’t accept Kaoru and Akane together because I’m really pissed at them. I can’t accept that Sakura won’t be with them. I might’ve kept reading if you never mentioned that they loved Sakura in that way and Akane and Kaoru developed their own feelings together and they didn’t leavenow I cant accept them being happy together knowing they loved Sakura smh

I was honestly hoping for a three way though between Sakura, Kaoru, and Akane. I was pretty mad at them leaving her though with the excuse that they wanted to get stronger to protect her or some bullshit like that but yet why didn’t they take her with them? Do they not realize she’s stronger than them? Why does she have to be left behind when Kaoru and Akane love eachother too? They’re together and love eachother yet faced little difficulty in their journey since it was practically a vacation and they didn’t get much stronger while Sakura was left alone with a shitty excuse left to fend for herself. They could’ve taken her and probably go roughs or some shit and be free like they wanted with the person they love. Now they come back as a couple and say that they want to fix her but she’s as happy as can be right now. Why can’t they love her as she is? Now I’ll never be able to see them both the same way again and I don’t like em anymore:,( I also don’t ship NejiSaku in this story but I also kind of do. I wanted them to be just friends in the beginning so Sakura could be with her teammates but now that they are jerks NejiSaku is eh. I’m also happy that’s she’s an ANBU captain. I’ve been hoping she joined it . Also I want to see her and Itachi meet and see how they react to eachother and how their conversation will go!

Well, I started reading Pulling My Weight somewhen around 2 years ago but due to lack of interest in anime, I kind of stopped reading until this month, where I found it on Ao3. As I read through it I was really amazed by your writing and the characterization! Your work is also the reason I more or less got back into the fandom, I admit. So, upon getting back, I started checking my bookmarks for fics I read years ago and there was this one, that I didn't really have bookmarked but I remembered it. I couldn't find it though.

Not until today, when I was in search of other fics, stumbled upon this fic and realized it's exactly this one. God, I read this way back than 3 years ago. Heck, it might have been in 2015. And I was really in love with it. The characters, the plot, your ocs... everything!

So, I'm really surprised to have found out that you're the author of two of my all-time Naruto fanfics! This is why I really wanted to write you this comment to thank you for being such an amazing author and sharing your works!
