Reviews for Hunger
Ataahua chapter 1 . 7/12/2017
Another cute, yet amusing shot! You do such a good job of capturing L's thoughts and feelings. It was sweet to see Matsuda's reaction to finding out he wouldn't be keeping Erin company as much too. And L about the melon. Suuuuuure that was your reason for not being in the mood for melon anymore, L. Blame it on the ham! XD
Poodie chapter 1 . 7/20/2016
Why do o ship them so much XD Erin for L! L for Erin!
Guest chapter 1 . 8/24/2015
I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here. I finished SotC a while ago, but I wanted to revist L and Erin, some I'm reading the oneshots. These are like flashbacks to me, and it's so painful. Good job though, I love how he shows he cares through the little, behind-the-scenes things.
keileenobiginiyoina chapter 1 . 6/7/2014
I'm hungry too. Ah no. I feel crave. Craving for L x Erin sweet scenes XD
headlessllama247 chapter 1 . 2/11/2014
congratulations, your oneshot (more like one s***) officially bored me to death!

Keep up the bad work :)
writingpenguin chapter 1 . 1/30/2013
I'm reading this too soon. I've just finished the original story, and now I'm reading this. It's actually painful. It's like watching a flashback of someone who died. Do you know how sad that is? It's extremely saddening. I could grieve or something.

Another thing, those little tidbits that actually shows that he cares? They seem so little and yet, I couldn't find any better way to imagine it. This is just... No words could describe.

You're a splendid author. I hope you continue using your talent. :)
LunaFisto chapter 1 . 8/11/2012
LOVED IT! Actually the hunger thing cracked me up. But what made me blush was the "want" part. Then I realized that he was right to a certin extant. But then it was just PS. He was just talking out his ass so he would SEEM right. Atleast thats what it looked like to me. Then he tried to hide his smie. That part was really cool. And the deadpan way he said "I hunger for justice" made me BURST out laughing. Just because thats totally something I can actually hear him saying.
TwitchWalkerTexasRanger chapter 1 . 7/31/2012
Oh, well isn't this just a piece of awesome? As always, I'm in awe of your expertise. You've done a brilliant job of capturing L's character, as well as making me fully frustrated at him.

This part got me right here:

"Suddenly, he's not in the mood for melon, anymore. It must be the ham dressing the display; it had been left on for too long and has tainted the fruit."

No it hasn't, L! You're feeling guilty! L, why can't you see that you are in like with Erin? Please, I'm begging you, go after her!

Anyways, WhiteLadyDragon, excellent job.
Mysti Queen chapter 1 . 7/30/2012
Once again, another wonderful piece. I can't describe how much I enjoy seeing Erin and L interact. It's always really entertaining and amusing, but also really cute. They both have their funny little quirks that just seem funnier when they're together. I'm such a sucker for their weird little romance x3

These fics always make me wish there could've been more going on between them and that then of SOTC would've been happier, but at the same time I can't really picture them being in an actual relationship. I think they'd drive crazy and their relationship would be more arguing than anything!

I also adore your writing style. You're able to switch from humor to a deeper tone so seamlessly. It's really lovely! Please continue writing more! :D
another.creative.lover chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
Heh-heh.

When "hunger" came up as a topic in Erin and L's conversation, I immediately thought of the Id. You know, the part that Freud proposed was a part of the human subconscious that had all the basic desires like hunger and thirst and sex.

Implication of ErinxL successful. ;)
sincethelastday chapter 1 . 7/27/2012
That was a very "delicious" one-shot (come on, it's a fic with the title "Hunger" - I had to throw in some type of reference to the title with my compliments lol).

All of L's little speech on hunger and the connection with it to emotions was great and made a lot of sense, which is funny because he really doesn't know. Sure, he knows intellectually about emotions and such, but does he ever really emotionally and "heart-fully" experience them? Who knows? I think this one-shot really captures a key element, a key mystery of L: How much of emotions does he really understand and even experience? How much of an unfeeling "robot" is he? Does he just do a superb job of covering up his emotions or does he really not know how to give in to them?

I'm starting to ramble, but what I'm trying to get at is that I think you did a wonderful job at exploring this concept and, of course, got to love the Erin and L interaction! I love how she was throwing pillows at him and just love some of the lines in here as well (for example, "...a puppy with the bark of a pitbull.") Overall, great one-shot and I hope most of this review made sense! lol.
Lorraine24 chapter 1 . 7/26/2012
Great story! I really like the whole point L made of how humans constantly hunger. I absolutely agree with him too! My favorite part is when he expresses his disappointment in Erin's narrow-mindedness. I have no idea why, I just really like that part. _ Very well written, as usual!
the aspiring cynic chapter 1 . 7/25/2012
Pillow fight! Ha. I can imagine L's blank face as Erin whops him with some pillows.

As for the hunger not being a real emotion, here's my two cents:

I would say that Hunger is the cause of emotion. Greed. Lust. Jealousy/Envy. Hell, maybe even Sloth. I wouldn't exactly nail it as an emotion per se, but it definitely could be considered a cause.

My favorite line would probably be this one:
"You're just an android masquerading in a latex human suit who thinks you've got humanity all figured out, like a crossword puzzle."

You certainly have a way with words, m'darling.
Ratt9 chapter 1 . 7/23/2012
I loved this. You did a wonderful job with the speculating about hunger. I agree with everything discussed about it.

This was wonderful.
deactivated10-16 chapter 1 . 7/22/2012
I loved Erin's response to what L did to Light and Misa here; it seems like something she would do. I think my favorite part of this story was probably the contrast between how much L was analyzing and how little he was saying, whereas Erin seems to do all her thinking through her talking, if that makes any sense.

Every time I read one of these oneshots, I keep wishing they could have had a different ending, or at least maybe another chance at getting to know each other. But at the same time I can't visualize their story ending any way other than it did. Either way, this was beautifully written.
