A really good and thoughful retelling of the canon film and the addition of your own perspective enrichens it beautifully.
However, this needs some serious editing given some of the word useage is mistaken or superfluous, plus you have people simultaneously doing two different actions, ie Spock both lying and sitting in the first paragraph of this chapter, and characters acting in a manner quite uncharacteristically, ie Spock and Uhura holding hands for a lengthy time, given he's a contact telepath and in the same chapter you mention his unease at repeat contact.
Imo a Beta to cast a critical eye over your work would, I think, help you focus your writing so the words say precisely what you want them to mean.
