Am I supposed to celebrate the fact that the protagonist, who is presented as kind and moral, punched his mother UNCONSCIOUS? I'm no Gandhi, and I absolutely understand the necessity of fighting back, but there's such a thing as excessive force. I mean, could he not have defended himself by taking away the broom or shoving her aside? Even worse, his slapping his mother so hard that she falls over was not even in defense. He was the aggressor there.

And look, I get that abuse victims do sometimes act out in violence, in real life, but the absence of any guilt on the protagonist's part (in fact, he, and all the other protagonists, seem happy about his actions in the following chapter), or any other suggestion that it was in any way bad, in the narrative, means this story is promoting this sort of violent behavior...and I just think that's disappointing, especially considering The Games were a criticism of the depiction of violence in entertainment. Given the plethora of stories where Katniss hits or threatens death or injury upon Mrs Mellark for simply *verbally* insulting her or Peeta, and is then commended for it, both in the story and in the comments/reviews, though, it seems I'm very much in the minority.

Such a sweet story. I've never read a fanfic like this and I think you did an amazing job writing it.

I'm so scared what's gonna happen next. I shouldn't be reading this since itd make me depressed... But it's just too good!

I really enjoyed this story a lot. Glad to see in the end that Peeta's brother Strue made it through the war. I think the only family member of Peeta's we didn't really get much interaction with was Mr. Mellark. That was crazy Peeta's brother Rye being for the Nazi's. I am curious about what happened to Madge and her family. The holiday outtake chapter was cute. That would be cool if Peeta still has the wooden figure Katniss gave him. I appreciate all you writers out there that help keep me entertained for hours with reading material with characters I enjoy quite a bit.

This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite stories. I have read it many many times and it never stops impacting me.
