Weird thing was,/that/ he and Nick were roommates but Nick wasn't in his bed (that) morning.

That's just the first few lines of this chapter...

Now, not to sound cocky or arrogant but you won't get too much readers or reviewers if the story has too much grammar and sentence construction mistakes... So you really have to read up and review your English grammar so that people can appreciate your fic. People can look past a small typo or a confusion with past perfect and past progressive tensing, and maybe even some punctuation but when it accumulates in occurrence, it just becomes irksome to read.

Because from the point of view of a semi- Grammar Nazi, instead of looking for the nice plot of the story, i end up looking at grammar mistakes that i should correct.

I'm sorry dude but just had to say it. Improve your grammar and writing style first and let it mature
