Interesting so far.
As I see it, this is just "some" parallel universe (ST got more then enough of them, so I suppose it's no specific AU ( Alternative Universe, just in case someone is unfamiliar with the term) ), so I'm not going to question some things that differ from the "main" universe.
Anyway, this fic got Tasha as a main character! And I just LOVE Tasha! *huge fangirl*
The only thing I kinda stumbled over was the one drone, that beamed onboard the MacKenzie. It just kinda beamed in, got beaten up... and the Borg kinda didn't care. They didn't send a second drone or some more. Just this one. But I'm willing to file this under "AU Borg behavior" if you promise to upload the next chapter soon ;)

Okay, well, this looks interesting.

Interesting start. I'm going to assume that the unknown characters will be given some introduction later, and that there will be some explanation for the AU elements, such as Data being next in the chain of command instead of Riker. I'm puzzled by the choice to use expletives that we never heard on the show, and by the mention of religious language and practices that are jarringly out of place in Gene Roddenberry's world. But it's good enough to keep reading - thanks for posting.
