Paper Train chapter 2 . 12/27/2015 I too was disappointed with the ending of the anime. While the anime was better than the manga in MANY aspects, the ending of the manga was left open which, for a ten chapter manga series, I feel is the best because it implies that the cast have time to properly settle out their emotions which would have been rushed and underdeveloped in ten chapters. I also agree that Ahiru was a little easy to swoon, though Fakir gradually grew charming and their relationship was nicely developed. Mytho...even as a child I couldnt believe that he'd decide who he loved after JUST having his heart completed. And how he couldnt have chosen the princess who selflessly tied herself to him even though it was painful and a risk to herself just because she wanted him to smile. How he didnt choose the princess whose story book counterpart in The Prince and The Raven he was most concerned with. There was mutual care there in the first season and there was no good closure for its ending. And neither Rue, Mytho, or Ahiru questioned the kind of love they felt. Especially Rue and Mytho, considering that Rue was just a child when they first met and even then Mytho was emotionless; when did you begin to love her Mytho? And Rue, I cant be mad at her since she was brainwashed to believe that no one but Mytho could love her and ending up with him in the end made it feel like she hadnt grown past that. Why didnt she question her attachment to Mytho after she remembered what her father had done to her? Why didnt she just try to love someone else, break the mental mold her farther used to manipulate her? Only after seeing the consequences of her actions of her actions did she begin to regret but really, how could she suddenly forgiven for all she's done and all that's occured as reprocussion in one act of sacrifice? I felt like the anime took their development 3/4ths of the way, but instead of handling after-event development (the settling of their feelings) and just pushed them into ships. It just felt unsatisfying in that it lacked the kind of closure and explanation for their feelings. "Love doesnt require reason or explanation." It does in a story, because the reason and explanation are events in a story's like "it just happened" in a story's plot feels half-assed. I'm excited for your sequel! I hope the writing goes well! |
Guest chapter 1 . 11/12/2015 I think the same I love Ahiru with mytho with all of my heart |
The.Pumkin.Qween chapter 1 . 8/1/2013 and rue never found out? darn ' pout ' I love and hate the story |
Yira chapter 2 . 6/29/2013 Update Please. Your story is too good to be left alone. |
monotone no natsu chapter 3 . 6/29/2013 Wow...i've been looking for a story like this ever since I finished the series a few years ago. It's beautiful and I feel like I can share the pain of the characters. I can't wait to read the rest of it D |
Yira chapter 1 . 6/14/2013 I honestly love your version of the story. I too believe you're right, the canon version of mytho is a doormat. I mean he picks the abuser for the princess but not the princess. Mytho is like a messed up Takumi Usui, for likely dumping/abandoning his princess-like Misaki, the girl who protects and cares for him. The best part is you ingeniously engineered the canon to meld into this lovely piece of fiction. It moved me to tears. . .Hope you continue with an after ch 3 story. . . .Thank you very much for writing such a lovely. . . . .Hope you have a good day. . . . . .Sincerely, . . . . . .Yira |
AgnetCoCo chapter 3 . 5/18/2013 I like this story. Please write more! |
TheCheshireCat01 chapter 3 . 12/26/2012 that was a cool story and if theres anymore chapters i would love to read them :) |
Shiraya chapter 1 . 12/9/2012 Well, I kinda agree to you. This anime made me crazy for years and haven't recovered yet. I wanted Mytho and Ahiru to be together and I really thought it was them that was going to have a happily-ever-after but noooo... it didn't. sigh* For one instance, I want to have another season of it. Mytho and Ahiru are destined for each other not with Rue. I know she's very pitiful but what about Ahiru she did something she didn't even desire for her prince and yet...How cruel. |
me chapter 1 . 11/23/2012 I hope I'm not coming off rude here-but I have to disagree. I think it was ended the way it was to make a point. Tutu knew Mytho wasn't going to choose her, but she sacrified everything for him anyway. That's just the kind of person she is. She wouldn't be as amazing as she was if she hadn't saved him. And after watching the series multiple times, you pick up on subtle things that kind of make the ending make more sense-if that makes any sense? It made the story more meaningful in a way to have the not so perfect ending. I personally really enjoyed it. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions :) On another note I really enjoyed your writing style (even if I don't agree with you on pairings) and I actually really enjoyed this story even though I liked the ending of the anime too. I even teared up a little 3 keep up the great work! |
Salestia chapter 3 . 11/6/2012 I want to thank you with all my heart for writing this story. For me, this story was cathartic and pressure releasing for stuffed-up emotions. I'm a Mytho/ahiru fan so i do like the pairing. Once again I must thank you for writing this story! |
Paper Train chapter 3 . 9/3/2012 Woah! I really like this story! Please update soon! |
Guest chapter 3 . 8/15/2012 Lovee it. You should continue. Its beautiful so far |
RizaCrim chapter 3 . 8/16/2012 This story brings tears of joy to me and my heart lols I loved it |
Sally White chapter 3 . 8/12/2012 It's not often that I feel the need to write a review such as te one that I am going to be giving to you, but after reading this story I feel that I should, so as to ease my mind and my heart. The story was good. I will give you that. It was well thought out and seemed to have a lot of effort put into it. There were a few errors that I spotted (many 'hads' really should have been 'haves', but I digress) and a few sentences that broke the floe of the story, but overall the errors were minimal and the story flowed pretty steadily. The plot draws your audience in and keeps them wanting to read more. Again, I applaud you for all of that. However...as you said in your note in the first chapter, you are only 13. You have not experienced much of life yet. You are not even in high school. I don't mean to offend you, dear, but because of these reasons I do not believe that you have the right to decide what a happy ending is and/or isn't. You do not know what love truly is yet. You cannot know, because you have not had the years of experience to gain any of this knowledge (which is no fault of yours, dear). If you really took the time to think about it as you watched the anime, it was quite obvious from the very beginning that it was not going to end happily. Ahiru (Duck) is a duck. Her heart may be a girl's heart, but her body is that of a duck. And the body, dear, is what limits the things that one is and/or isn't able to do. And it is pointed out very early on that she is a princess who is fated to never be with her prince. It may not seem fair, but that is what was fated, and while I may not believe in fate I do know that you can't fight what is supposed to happen. I liked the ending of the anime, honestly. It may not have ended happily, but the ending was realistic. It doesn't teach children false things, such as princes sweeping you off into the sunset and happy endings and things like that. Because, in real life, you don't always end up with your prince and you don't always get a happy ending. Life isn't fair like that, dear. You will learn this as you get older and really experience life. Love is also not that fair. Love is cold and cruel and sadistic. Love is an irrational and illogical emotion. Love prompts you to give up everything for the one you feel it for; that is not a rational reaction, because human nature demands that you do everything in your power to ensure your survival. But since we don't usually see the bad parts of love until it is too late, we find that it is much to easy to give away. It has been my experience that you can never truly love someone until you have hated them to the point where you can do nothing but love them. Again, you will learn this as you grow older. The anime gave a realistic ending. It teaches that you can't just expect to get a happy ending, you have to earn and fight for it. And if it turns out that you can't be happy, then you can at least be satisfied and content with what you get, because in reality you have no right to ask for any more than that. Ahiru ended up a duck, yes, but she so ended up with someone who was willing to stay beside her and love her no matter what form she ended up in: Fakir. And do remember that he hated her at first, and her him, and their emotions didn't change until they realized that hating each other just wasn't the answer. And that, dear, is how love really is. Again, I do not mean to offend or judge you in any way with this review. I nearly want you to know what I think, and perhaps gain a little insight to how the world really is. I really do enjoy your writing, and I can't wait to see how this ends and I can't wait to read your other stories. Have a nice day. Peace Sincerely, Sally White |
