very intresting :) I'm wondering, what's going on with Luffy? Remembering the past cannot change him like that, can it? Because he is always acting for his nakamas' best intrest, so he shouldn't be cynical (which I enjoyed, though :P) for not a serious reason, right?

but even if it wasn't long, that's still a good chapter! :) Poor Luffy and everyone (they must be SO worried about him!). But hopefully they will pull through this hard time, together.
The only thing that disturbed me was how you repeated "hear" (or actually, "heard", then "hear" :P) at the end. But that's unimportant, really, it just caught my attention while reading :P
now, on to the next chapter!

an intense chapter, no? I liked it a lot (even though I hate to see Luffy suffering like that, but it's better for him to confront his fears and get assured that parts of them will never come true and he will never be alone... Right? n_n).
Oh, and I really appreciate that his dream featured his other friends, too. Because he definitely cares a lot about Bon Clay, Coby and co., so it's strange that they are sometimes left out from his nakama... At least it's strange in my point of view :P

I like your descriptions about the sky - it sure must have been a spectacular view! It's also a plus that you don't neglect the crew's worry for their captain, and Zoro's question came up in a good moment, so it was natural. well done!
I also liked the ending, as even if it's hard to imagine Luffy depressed like that, it's still believable and I agree that he would avoid worrying his crew, the best way he can.

good first chapter, it got me intrested! Fics about past catching up like this aren't that common, and this one is well-written and promising, making me want to read much more. nice!
So, Polchemie is his old, bastard self? He deserves more... generous treatment than just a fist to his face. Hope that Luffy won't get too hurt by his poisonous words. Don't you dare to feel low because of that piece of crap, captain!
