I just found it and read it in one go and it took me back to that IM1 time... an easier, though not less emotional time and I loved all the little things you decided to put in. I really enjoyed your story. Overall, it was very nicely written and characterization was very well done. However, the catch for me is that I believe Tony's motivations for creating the Iron Man suit are completely off. You ride his entire motivation on wanting to fly, and simply wanting to fly, doesn't fit Tony's characterization. If anything, the suits gave him a sense of power and control that he never had in his life. He was a man who never had a childhood, was physically/emotionally abused, didn't get to choose his own career/life path. But he was instead heir to a weapons manufacturer, he created death. And he now had the power and control to do good and make a difference.
