Halo Star Wars X-over fan chapter 36 . 9/18/2018 Honestly I’d say I enjoyed this however I actually didn’t really simply because well Gwen isn’t MJ or well Mary Jane, who by far is the meant to be character with Petter, which not to mention needs to be more of those stories since there 8s barely a half dozen of them and the rest is either Michelle or Gwen herself. So yeah... but well besides that it was pretty great of a story. Well besides what I mentioned and one other thing, which is the way Peter continually acted which was constantly cringeworthy sometimes or just flat out stupid. Oh and with all I said why would I even be reading this story? Well because of the third one which as far as I’m aware Pairs Peter and Mary together which because of that I wanted to get the background information and stuff. However there is one additional thing I noticed what you said in response to reviewers who says write longer chapters, you get their point completely wrong. As the thing is a good chapter length is around 3-5k on average although it isn’t the best honestly however the thing is when they say longer chapters they mean take more time to write, which means don’t update everyday or every week instead update once a month or once every two months, which is what it takes most authors to write 5k words, or the exceptional ones 30-60k words in a chapter. |
FadingSlowly chapter 4 . 6/6/2018 You write Peter sooo well. This story is the first Spider-Man fanfiction I've ever read and it looks like I picked the right one. So refreshing! :) Great job! |
Rachel Smith Cobleigh chapter 36 . 3/30/2018 Great job with the tension and the character arc. Peter is immensely frustrating, and I really disliked how unwilling he was to listen to his father, and how unwilling his father was to say anything. One effect of this lack of communication is that his father came to feel like a mere plot device that kept getting Peter out of scrapes throughout the story. But the idea that his father is just as trapped in emotional illogic in his head as Peter is trapped in his own makes a kind of sense. There’s a familial resemblance. And that final conversation between Peter and his father did a nice job of bringing that point home to land. Peter is unable to be with Gwen; Richard is unable to be with Peter; Peter recognizes this for a moment, but is unwilling to forgive his father, even with the visible reflection of his own internal mental knot. Peter definitely felt like a teenage boy. Nice job portraying those complex interpersonal/psychological dynamics. I also really enjoyed your author’s notes, and all the adventures you seem to be going on. :) I look forward to reading the sequel. |
Rachel Smith Cobleigh chapter 5 . 3/11/2018 Oooh, really nice depiction of Peter’s deteriorating mental state, seeded with his distinctive humor and engineering interest and a growing lack of self-awareness! It flowed so naturally, despite the increasing lack of logic. Well done! I just kept thinking that although I could easily imagine Andrew Garfield portraying the scenes you described, I’m so much happier to be reading your prose because it’s brilliant. Also, nice job bringing competent Gwen back on the scene. She feels so real and totally believable. And nice work hinting that May knows his secret. |
