I'm so sad it's complete, I'm just going to have to wait on your next story!

I love this story. Honestly thought that the writers missed out on a golden opportunity when they made Linzin past canon instead of current canon. Why couldn't Lin be chief of police and a mother? A badass woman with a family keeping the city safe? Yes please. Especially given all the strong women in ATLA I wouldn't have been surprised for the chief to have both a family and a job but instead they made her a loner who was hurt by the three most important people in her life . Even though in canon it was different goals (perhaps wanting to live up to their parents' legacies) not a lack of love, the goals weren't so different after all. Also Toph being a bad parent and how Su was as a teenager probably had a lot to do with Lin not wanting kids but WHY did Toph have to be a bad parent in canon? I like in this story that Toph was not the best mom but she seemed to try a little more and it in turn helped Lin to be more open to a family. I didn't mind Toph dying saving Lin and probably would've preferred that to how they wrote Toph in LOK.

I feel like Korra needed some proper tough love as she adjusted to being in the real world and Lin would have been perfect for that as the mother figure in the house. And Lin would never tell Korra to go after a guy in a relationship. If Korra and Lin were alike at 17/18 like Tenzin implies in canon then Lin combined with Tenzin could have had such a profound impact on Korra which would have been a nod to the good things their parents taught them. Can you imagine Lin teaching Korra to metal bend or even running earthbending drills with her. I can picture a fed up Tenzin giving Korra to Lin for training for a day , Korra underestimating it , thinking she's mastered earthbending so Beifong can't throw anything at her she can't handle so she doesn't take the small drills seriously and Lin decides to teach her a lesson by sparring with her. But as Toph's daughter she would kick her ass blind folded and end up throwing Korra all the way to wherever Tenzin and the acolytes are meditating so Tenzin uses airbending to cushion her fall and asks her if she still thinks training with Lin is easier. (I think I'd love to see a story about that)

Oh my goodness, what an amazing journey you've taken us on. Thanks for writing such a beautiful story, it was the Lin/Tenzin story we all needed.

I *really* thought the epilogue would be Tenzin’s funeral for some reason, so thank you for not showing either of those things (even though i’m sure I would have loved it) and ending on a happy note. Ug! I loved this SO much! Thank you for a wonderful story.

Now THAT was a way to finish this fanfic! Callbacks, emotional fulfillment and plot threads being resolved for the Linzin family in understandable ways, and an amazing non-cliffhanger that leaves the world open to the reader’s imagination insofar as the fates of everyone this fic has portrayed. Thank you for the amazing story! I only discovered your work this quarantine but how I wish I have read this earlier! You are such a talented writer and I admire the effort you've put into writing and finishing this. I have been a huge Linzin fan since Korra was still airing because I always felt that Lin and Tenzin were meant to be with each other. Their personalities complement each other so much and Lin just couldn't resolve her internal struggles early on in the canon timeline. I believe Lin was afraid to have kids because she feared to be a dysfunctional mother because of the issues within her family and your work has dwelled on this really well!
It's great that you added so much depth into most of the characters in the story. The plot before Korra was quite exciting and I love how realistic Lin and Tenzin's lives were portrayed from childhood to married life. I absolutely adore how their kids were portrayed, as well as Bumi and Kya which weren't given much attention in the show. I also love how the Korra plot line was in the perspective of Lin's family because we got to see how they reacted and felt about it and the focus didn't have to be on Korra and the villains because it was already tackled in the show. Most importantly, the way you've written Lin's character was so on point from with stubborn yet determined personality and her selfless devotion to her family. Lin is my favorite character in Korra because I relate so much to her and you've done justice to her character. Well done! I'm looking forward to read your future stories soon and I hope you continue writing on the Avatar universe. Thank you again, you're so talented!

I think it’s weird that Yunjin and Amali are married. It’s weird to marry your cousin. I feel like it’s saying that Amali isn’t actually Yunjin’s cousin & isn’t actually Kya’s daughter.
