It's just the scene at the temple that had me read twice, as it's "temple", and not "church", and the way to attract a persons attention is the Amulet of Mara, not a ring. The ring is given by Maramal during the ceremony. The writing of that part seemed a bit influenced by christian tradition instead of traditional Nord (or Tamrielic). Btw, my wife is wearing her Bond of Matrimony all the time. I don't, as it's not reasonable for my fighting style, but it's sweet nonetheless.
