Holy macaroni, darling, this is SPECTACULAR. I LOVE the everything about this, especially the quiet moments between Zuko and Katara after they defeat Azula. They're not overly romantic, but still very intimate, very open and trusting and caring. I love that Zuko is still showing her a side of himself that no one has seen other than Ursa and Iroh. There's just such POWER in the quiet intimacy they have. It echoes a lot of the feeling and implications from the Crystal Catacombs scar touching that first got me to love this ship. Don't ever doubt yourself, sweetie. You are simply marvelous.

So I normally do not review stories, but its crazy how much you deserve it. I'm crazily in love with this story and it's literally a pain to wait for you to update. Its soo amazing. Please update fast! Im so addicted and need the next chapter! Your writing is so fluid and poetic. Keep up the great work. Im a fan.

I'm really intrigued by this. The prose is great, aside from some punctuation errors. It is faithful to the series. I think it is very IC for Zuko and Katara too. Well done, and I do hope there is more!

Oh hey, a review. Late as hell, I know, sorry. But at least it's here! Let's start from the top.

What I liked most about this first scene was that you managed to keep both Aang and Katara reasonably in-character without making either of them unlikable for the sake of easy drama. Aang's earnestness is believable and in step with who he is, without becoming overly-pushy to the point of being a caricature of himself. Likewise, Katara is understandably fatigued but doesn't lash out in an overly-aggressive way for the sake of easy drama. And since that kind of easy drama is a trap a lot of people fall in to, kudos to you for avoiding it.

Moving on, I really enjoyed the first extended conversation Katara and Zuko have here. Both of them have valid points about Aang's status and responsibilities, and you were smart to let each of them make their main points without drumming one of their perspectives down as being objectively wrong. Not only that, but the vehemence that they debate with makes the moment of calm that comes later much more impactful. You continue to pace your moments of emotional vulnerability quite well throughout the story- it's not like Zuko and Katara are just laying all their cards out on the table at once, but you're using appropriate moments for them to share insights into themselves with each other.
Speaking of, I also liked how you handled Katara revealing what Aang had done. It felt properly off-the-cuff, because sometimes things like that just come up out of nowhere in conversation if they're on one person's mind enough. Zuko's guilelessness was also nicely in-character; that kind of blunt, factual discussion of emotional issues is a big part of what makes him so likeable and also awkward at points, and you got that balance nicely. Characterization points aplenty here.

Moving on, Toph's little cameo here to be all awesome and Toph-like was most welcome. Nice to see her being her AtLA self, if you know what I mean. I remember you saying something along the lines of not being sure if you got Toph's voice or not, but I think you totally did here.

And moving on again, we get to the Aang conversation with the rest of the Gaang. Honestly, you had me fooled here. My memory was spotty enough that I couldn't remember if this moment was canonical or not, and you had it written convincingly enough that I couldn't tell one way or the other. The presentation of Aang's vulnerability and insecurity was very convincing, and understandable and sympathetic without being rage-inducingly obstinate. This moment does a lot to humanize Aang, and- as I've said before at length- the endgame of the series needed more of these moments. So good job!

The short scene between Zuko and Katara that followed was also really nice, as it was refreshing to see Zuko call Katara out about the clanish attitude of the Gaang and question their trust of him, but without being overly confrontational and storming out or some melodramatic crap. You made his hurt feel genuine and understandable, which made Katara's remorse, in turn, feel more believable. Well done.

The next conversation between Katara and Zuko was, as usual, very well done. You've definitely built up their relationship enough by this point that those sorts of emotionally vulnerable moments and personal confessions feel earned and plausible. Especially after your TSR chapter, something like this feels par for the course at this point. Without the build-up it would have been jarring, so it's nice to finally see you reaping the benefits of patience and characterization. It's really hard to wait like that sometimes, especially when you know exactly how the good stuff is going to play out, but the wait is always worth it in the end. Zuko's stories about Iroh and himself were also sweet and touching, and a good way to show how much Zuko's grown and changed as a person throughout the series. The moment of melancholy was nicely balanced out by some fluff, and the moment at the end there made me smile in particular. Great scene.

Moving on! Since the scene right after this one mainly riffs off of canon, I don't have much to say other than you did a good job bringing it over. So, onto the scene after that: I thought it was cool that you took advantage of prose here to write out Zuko's inner thoughts, especially comparing Katara having forgiven him to Iroh forgiving him possibly in the future. Nice parallel.
Also, in that same vein, I grinned at the TSR parallel with having Katara wait outside the tent for Zuko. Well done. And the subtle insight from Katara into how different Zuko looks/acts was good. Iroh was also being classic Iroh, nudging Zuko into inviting Katara in for tea. That was a great moment.

The last scene was great, and I loved seeing the heartwarming moments between the crew on the eve of battle. Toph's Zuko hug was unexpected and adorable. Nice work slipping that in there. Felt genuine even being non-canonical, which is a theme for this chapter. And Toph's parting line to Katara was also great. I mean, Toph doing anything is great, but yeah. You pull her off well. I WANT MORE OF THAT. Just saying.

All in all, this is another great chapter, and it's awesome to see you consistently improving as you write more. Keep it up!
