I hurt for him more than her; his heart is broken. I was so angry with how she behaved toward him during that episode.

It is sad that Nathan acts like him being harmed matters less because he can't feel it. It's almost as if he's saying that he matters less. While this is an excellent one shot, I'd love to see how you'd envision them getting past the issues presented in your story. (hint! ;-))
