This is what the OVA would've been if they'd made it into an hour long special, instead of just a half-hour! I loved your characterizations for everyone, and the way you reasoned out Ai's and Conan's behavior. I think that whether they outgrow their current situation (if that's possible), or they obtain an antidote, sooner or later Conan/Shinichi is going to have to face this scenario between himself and Haibara, and himself and Ran. There won't be an easy path for him, no matter which girl he ends up with. (Still rooting for him to be with his childhood sweetheart, though. I think Haibara would choose to remain a child, and start her life over. Mitsuiko IS rather sweet on her, after all. He's no Conan Edogawa, but since he's already taken...)

A great story. Very nice job keeping everyone in character.

It seems Conan wanted to keep Ran and Ai for himself. That's why his dream was like that (Ran keep waiting for him and Ai confess to him, which means Ai was waiting for him, too).

But he should know that his dream will never come true. Ran will never wait for him for ten years and neither will Ai. I think that's what I call resolve. But since I'm not find any in this story, dream should be included in the title instead of resolve.

Somehow, I found myself actually considering this to be an alternate ending to the OVA 9. Although the story doesn't revolve on Shinichi and Ran's relationship, the encounter with Ai-chan was surprisingly contenting.

Still, that doesn't mean I will love their relationship as lovers. Conan and Ai or Shinichi and Shiho can remain as close friends as how long they want it to be but that will be it, friends. No more, no less.

I'm still rooting for Shinichi and Ran!

And you, my sweet, should do some Shinichi and Ran fics like you always do in the past!

I love this! This is one of my favorite OVA's(I'm sure I'm not alone in that...lol). Also I love the dynamic between Shinichi and Haibara.I hope there is a happy ending for her somewhere because for her to end up with nothing at the end would be ,sorry to be rambling,this was wonderfuly written and the characters were *in* character job!
