Just found this & absolutely loved it, every word. My favourite period of history has been brought to rip roaring life. I am very much reminded of Simon Carrow's wonderful books. Hope there will be an update.

I Think Octavians plan of a triumvirate is a good Idea Especially adding Cicero as the Neutral Party to the deal.

Another delightful episode, and as usual, full of humour both subtle and less so. "Still stuck on the old bat" is wonderful bathetic English slang, and, of course, so very Atia-like. As was the description of her sexual preferences! Then getting so many overblown epithets in one sentence "blazing like a star" etc, priceless!
I'm still loving your Octavia, even if she does resemble a certain elven princess, and a certain Narnian Queen. Probably because of that.
Clearly there's much ingenious scheming to come, and the hilarious, casual appearance of Pullo at the end of the episode is more icing on the cake.
If only I had your punchy writing style ... well I'd have managed to write a lot more fics!

OMG, how could I not have noticed this sooner?! The chapter's awesome by the way and interesting But right now I'm not sure if I'm rooting for Atia and Co or Brutus.

Too bad this wasn't part of the series! It reads very much as believeable to the tv script, and I would love to have seen the actors duke this out, in front of the Roman people!

My mom and I are re-watching the series and discussing history...this is a turning point that I wish would've happened.

Great new chapter! I love the politics and intrigues of this story! Atia seems like such a strong character and I think how you portrayed the relationships between her children was so interesting! It'll be good to see how this story plays out! The ending of this chapter was so amusing too lol!

I merely note the scintillating line "She felt like cursing Vorenus, or kicking him in the shins." Sometimes its the small things. I think there's more than a hint in that of how things might go.

Great new chapter! I love the way you give a hint at the historical setting of the fic without going into reams of detail - something I struggle with haha! The dialogue is great and snappy too - I loved Octavia's defiance in this chapter. Would like to see how Servilia is getting on! :)

What a crazy opening chapter! You have such a unique writing style that just grabs you from the beginning sentence, "That little punk Brutus is as good as dead..." Ha! Love how Brutus was able to con the people into thinking he did what he did to avenge his mother. (Another line I loved was, "The sons of whores were actually crying.") I can imagine Mark Antony standing there in exasperation, wondering how that little punk was stealing his thunder! haha this was a great way for me to get back to the era of murderous Romans, thank you for that :)

Ooh the tension in this chapter was so good! Really excited to see you've updated this story - I love this one and the relationship between Octavia and Servilia! Great dialogue in this chapter and I also love the suggestion of the 'mythological' Valatara - I hope she becomes more significant as the story goes on :)
