Such a cute story!

To be honest, I was pretty apprehensive about this story when I saw it on the feed. I'd skipped over it several times searching for interesting stories because of the summary but its persistent presence and lack of other new plots finally pushed me into giving it a go. I'm glad I did. It was not at all what I was expecting and has good writing technique. I even shed a few tears during the christmas speech and when Geordie died.

Didn't see that coming but it was great. Sometimes we think we have everything S/J figured out so this is a very refreshing story and very enjoyable.

I like the story enough to keep reading, but I can tell you that the family of the President of the US can go into the military, especially since one of President Lincoln's sons fought during the Civil War. As for NASA, I'm not sure about that. I guess it may be possible, but I don't think that it's come up.
