Just bursted through all 19 chapters in a day after finding it on TV Tropes and I just gotta say this thing is GREAT!

Will this story ever revive?

This is SynchroXyzStriker and I’m here to review this story.
You decided to focus on an obscure character like Rin Satsuki. And her interactions with Akyuu are superb; you managed to characterize her well. Having this story focused on Akyuu’s transformation from human to youkai is unique, yet intriguing at the same time. Nonetheless, it makes the plot interesting and story more enjoyable.
Overall, this story is great, and you dedicated much of your time in writing this. Please continue to write more chapters and keep up the great work.
But I'm also here for something else; I am on a "writer's block" and I really need ideas; I was wondering if you can try reading my fanfic and giving out your thoughts on this? Granted, my story isn’t exactly a crossover, but it’s a Science Fantasy story nonetheless; my fanfic is called “Touhou Strikers – The Silver Lining"
Trust me; it's a lot more awesome than it sounds; I know my fanfic isn't that great, but I want your honest opinion on this one. Please reply back. I appreciate your reviews. It helps motivate me to write more chapters. :)

Lovely chapter. In my mind, you should just write the lenghts that you like. Whether it's one long or 5 short ones, as long as the writing's up to par with this, I'm good.

Also, Akyuu's getting in really really deep, but at least it seems like you're making her a team of level 1 and 2 bosses. Looking forward to see who will appear next, and which side they'll be supporting. A lot of hidden stuff here. Brilliant.

All right, there's the fun lead-in, and... oh! I remember this question! Well done, fitting that in like that. Laziness is, I will grudgingly admit, a very good excuse. ;)

Mystia has it bad for Mokou? Aw yea, we Night Sparrow Love, now! ;) Mitsumoto is really excellent. (Though his handwriting is atrocious! orz). As an aside, she would certainly be voiced by Ogata Megumi (Sailor Uranus style, natch). I don't know about you, but I'm simply incapable of imagining any other voice for her.

Your introductory description of Mokou is interesting, because I would seriously have expected Akyuu to know about the immortals. It's a poignant bit of irony that she thinks Keine is the one who will be living longer.

After the exchange about the bounty, anyone who wasn't wondering already is now wondering when Akyuu's New Groove will become known to various parties. Reimu knows, Marisa is at least on the trail, and Keine won't be finding out for a looooong time (I expect that'll be an important plot point).

Speaking of which, there's a fascist human group? I didn't see that coming. Makes good plot thickener. The vehemence with which A9 vows their retribution is uncharacteristic; I wonder if, over time, the other personalities will recede/merge with her as she becomes more youkai-like. It's also setting up a nice character-defining moment. Will she follow through on her impulse (likely to regret it afterward) or will she master her rage and use it to temper her sense of harmony and peaceful coexistence? Basically, will she lose herself to the point that she gains new respect for her own monstrous nature, or will she willfully turn her back on that side of herself sufficiently that she learns to forgive? I'm looking forward to what comes out of that.

The scene with Ellen makes me think the latter is more likely. Funny, using a youkai to counter the natural duplicity of Akyuu that was liable to become worse through living a double life.

Oh Jesus, I remember that fuwamofuchuu comic too! Hilarious. (Satori is my absolute favorite character, too...)

Fourth day, at the river and wow is Rin a pervert. I'm not just reading more into that than is actually there, right? Setting that aside, Akyuu used the Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mk. III! ... You just blew up Wakasagihime. I hope you're happy. :

Parting shot: Nazrin is not yet conscious. Interesting. I suppose her state of familiarity remains a secret for now. ...actually, I wonder if A9 still thinks she'll be getting her flower back? Could it be she bound a familiar by accident? I suppose all will come clear soon enough.

Ah yes, to answer your question, I think a single scene may be a bit _too_ short. Just as a paragraph should complete a reasonable thought, so should a chapter complete a reasonable development.

good chapter, though I wonder how long little Akyuu will be willing to keep kiene from her true identety.

By the way, you can't copy/paste things from stories anymore. I believe it's an anti-theft system, but it's also quite annoying. As such, the addresses no longer work unless you manually type them out! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that means it pretty much removes your youtube links from use. Anywho, I loved that chapter! Been waiting on this update for forever now! Lo and behold, the update cometh! Sorry, felt like being fancy. I do that when sleepy. Anywho, I adored this chapter, and I look forward to the next with bated breath.

The only way out of this is that the mouse general becomes Rin's shikigami. They might need help to copy the program to other shikigami, or maybe is something as simple as to have Rin to order her shikigami. to install the program into another youkai?

And about Gensokyo, well is pretty clear in all material (Even the one that was ret-gone) that Gensokyo is a youkai preserve. Is a home for magical creatures that can no longer exist on earth like they did in the past. The reasons there are humans native to Gensokyo is not for them to be food (otherwise they would have all died quite soon) But because youkai need "belief" to exist, so they need humans to remember them and believe they exist. A powerful youkai only dies for real when is forgotten.

poor Tokiko suddenly a lot of what happened in the first chapters make sense now. the idea of a human and a youkai being sisters is so adorable...and yet so sad. I sort of want to hear more about them growing up now. and I love that fairy she's so cute. Akyuu's going to teach her to talk isnt she? so much adorable behind the scenes in this chapter. now got to try and only allow myself one chapter a week...

Ah, and now it appears it's my turn to be buried under absurd life circumstances! But while I've a bit of time, let's see what they're is to say.

Leading in with the present has another benefit I noticed, that it allows you a bit of time to recap after a longer break. That those sections are fairly entertaining in their own right is icing. She's being just vague enough that her intentions are in question, though I'd be pretty surprised if she DID decide to eat the kid.

And then you shift to the bulk, and a fine lot of mess it is in this chapter. There are some latent questions that you've brought into focus now. The nature of Rin's mental state seems fragmented, and from a reader's perspective, is all an open question. Are the goddess and the conqueror truly separate at all?

I was a bit surprised when the fight seemed to turn into a spell duel even though Nazrin herself declared the idea ridiculous. Is there some nuance to this I've missed? I'll grant that it's hard to describe bullet patterns without some sort of reference point, but you're going to have to at some point simply because you have original characters (or so I recall...). Alternatively, you can take a page from Chado's playbook and shift over time to more youkai-like fighting (cf. Yuuka vs. Yukari). Do it gradually and it might even make for an interesting narrative reflection point.

And Nazrin as shikigami is something I suspected by about the halfway point. She is going to be a lot of fun, I'm betting. To read, yes; and, crucially, to write. A9 needs more friends outside her head, and preferably someone who speaks human and isn't afraid to thump her for being silly- Kagerou and Mystia can't be around all the time. On this part, I'm looking forward to rumination on the nature of loyalty (seems to be a general theme).

And thanks for clearing up those meta questions. It's nice being able to make decisive editorial decisions sometimes, isn't it? ;)

Actually, thank you, that answers the question rather well. I'm getting really confused and worried about Akyuu's budding Schizophrenia (Now with double the inner voice!), though.

And of course you are correct that there are more. I just remembered those two. I could just in my mind see your Akyuu randomly encountering cold, cynical Parsee. I found it amusing.

Anyway, lovely chapter. Looking forward to see how this wardrobe malfuncton will be explained, and to what degree Nazrin will be humiliated and/or forced to wear a frilly ball gown.
