I love your imagery. It's so vivid. And your story finishes so powerfully, with flames and organic growth- organic growth that can't possibly hope to dispel the fires not in any time, a beautiful metaphor for how helpless IV has to be. It works so amazingly well, it... I'm speechless. Gushing. Utterly in love with those last few lines.
