This is a great story! I can't wait to read more!

While the remake was good what they left out was Freddy wasn't only a child molester but a child killer. He worked at a boiler room (not a preschool) and when children went missing they came after him. It was once his daughter caught him killing his wife that she told on him. But because the arrest papers were signed incorrectly he was released and that's why the parents were infuriated and decided to seek their own justice. I hope this helps.
