I'm really excited about this fanfic, the first chapter is one of my favurites i've ever read.
It captured perfectly my headcanon for that particular moment.

"Oh look, this prat still hasn't left. Guess he's living here now." - Ha! Laughed so hard at this. It's just so friendship-y, love it.

"The feelings he had for Lily were good ones… even when they were bad. And he didn't want to let all those good emotions turn into bad feelings, either within himself or between the two of them. Not ever." - Okay, LOVED this, because to me it suggests that you're not going to get super dramatic with the James/Lily relationship. Like I've read so many fics where at some point James is all, "I can't do this anymore so fine, I'm done with fancying her and I'm going to go out with some other girl in order to make this dramatic and angsty" or something like that. I hate that. It's so dramatic and not exactly consistent with James's character. But with yours it's like, no, James isn't going to overreact, because he likes her and he wants things to be good between them and that's that - no fuss, no love triangles; sure, they'll have their issues and all that, but that doesn't mean it's going to be *bad*

Anyway, rambling aside, I really love this and hope you update soon!

Okay, hey, so this is FANTASTIC. I love that you play out how Lily never actually hated James - that it's just his cocksure attitude she had a problem with. That's how I've always felt about it, too, especially since JKR herself as implied that Lily never actually hated James. So good on you!

I positively LOVE the ending, too, with the hand thing... Adorable, beautiful, just so completely heart-tugging. Just - I have few words; it's all feeling.
