I'm not sure. Yes, Clarice was conflicted. Yes, having a child changed things. Still, some of those problems dissapeared the moment she actually held Lecter at gunpoint. I'm sure there will be some issues, but the main ones are solved.

I almsot was expecting a time skip of several years. How long did it take for the search to wear off? For the people that knew the truth (Barbey, Crawford, Ardelia, Chilton), hoe was the news taken? Also, how did the FBI handle it? I can't imagine that Ardelia didn't repirt just who broke into the apartment and took Alex. Was Clarice branded a traitor or a captive? Despite whatever fronts those who knew the truth out up, they held very different thoughts to themselves. Did Chilton ever get murdered? How much of the office still think Crawford is the likely father? How did Ardelia cope with the loss of her best friend and seeing Lecter's human side when he intersted with his daughter?

Again, how is this solved in a chapter. At this rate, I'm not even certain if it will end as a tragedy. There are many trust issues, among other things. I don't think Clarice would kill Lecter. However, she would definitely pick Alex over him. If need be, she might shoot to injure. If she tries to escape and does so, that stroll doesn't resolve the problem of what the public thinks of all of this. At least they will probably rule it as kidnapping. The matter of the father is another problem.

Interesting development. Or not. I think we all knew it was coming. Although, how you manage to wrap up in another two chapters amazes me. Time skip? I imagine the first months might be a bit tends. Surely, people will have figured out that Clarcue went with the Doctor. They would probably launch a search, to find her and catch him.

An eventful chapter. While I doubt she'll die now, there is always a lingering concern. What if Clarice is killed in action (or in cold blood, as revenge) while Alex is still a minor? Even if he'll try to provide for her, Hannibal probably won't ever be recognized as her father. It would be too dangerous. Thus, it would probably only happen if the media got wind of it.

There's one. Verger may have figured it out, considering recent actions. Maybe not, though. Ardelia and Chilton to go.

Nthe resulting conversation was somewhat promising. If he remains in denial, he'll probably only believe it was a rape, when he comes to terms with it. That should make it easy enough for Clarice to agree and stay free. Really, the whole mother-of-the-serial-killer's-child thing is hard when they don't have new identities.

Verger's plot worried me.

Only five more chapters. The Verger problem needs to be wrapped up. You can't cause that much more damage, though. Right?

And here I was, in denial. Ardelia also thinks it was Jack. As for good ole' Jackie boy, he's not exactly helping dispel those beliefs. I hope he will be more lenient, if he finds out who the father was. Yet, I feel many would turn away in disdain, if they knew. I don't think he would be excluded. I would also hope not, but Ardelia would probably also feel disgust. When it happens, they will have gotten to appreciate Alex as her own person. With any luck, they will not blame her for the sins of her father.

I'm sure most of the people (Read: everyone except Lecter, Barney, Chilton, Ardelia and the man himself) are thinking that Crawford is probably the father. The rest (maybe not Chukton), are probably closer on their guessed as to the true identity of the father.

Uncomfortanle Jackie boy is endearing. That does make me wonder, though. Surely Jackie boy realizes that most bosses don't offer to help with things like that. Yet, it is a small enough office, so they could be considered friends. I think the rest of the FBI sees her as either A) His protogé B) His mistress. Lecter usually isn't wrong, so it's not too odd to think that Crawford may hold some attraction, even if he'll never (soon) act on it.

Chilton. That little imp! Rhe Doctor's reaction was more than concerning. At least he knows, now. I'm not actually sure where you will go with this. Most don't throw a child into the mix until after the two had fled their precious identities. No one would ever accept his child, yet he wants to be a father. They can't happily be a family, yet there are friends that Clarice wouldn't want to leave. No one currently knows who the father is, yet many would be able to figure it out, should the two disappear.

And, slowly, it will leak. Kicked out of the FBI, maybe? She could claim it was rape, but that doesn't seem like the Clarice we know. She wouldn't want to, becuase it would be rude to Hannibal (even if his image is already bad), and it would be "wrong" by her standards.
