Sir Casey of the Lea chapter 6 . 1/12/2017 Oh the relationship between these two is hilarious here. Good work. |
thephoenixandthedragon4ever chapter 6 . 11/10/2015 Weird and abrupt ending, please continue this story. |
sopmire chapter 6 . 1/28/2015 Absolutely love this story. Such very realistic characterizations, definitely going to be re-reading! |
PeaceHeather chapter 6 . 3/20/2014 I absolutely love how you've managed to make Loki be so good while still so unrepentantly dark. And how this entire take could be a genuine desire of Loki's to be good, or just as likely be part of an elaborate courtship of a guy who wasn't going to say yes to someone who couldn't surprise him. Brilliant! Wickedly clever. |
SophiaGrey chapter 1 . 1/23/2014 Wow, this was a fascinating first chapter. A very interesting idea, I can't wait to keep reading! |
Moo-cow300 chapter 6 . 1/7/2014 Oh my. |
helenxxx chapter 6 . 6/18/2013 Fantastic, completely in character for all, including the morality & self-interest |
PhoenixF-SD chapter 5 . 5/30/2013 This was funny and charming and perfect. Keep writing! XOXO Serenity. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 6 . 1/22/2013 I don't really know much about the fantastic four or doctor doom, but I thought you did a great job characterizing the avengers, and especially loki. I liked the part where he was talking to 'himself', that was really cool. It was also nice to see that you had done your research with the myths, I liked how you tied in all those details, like loki's appetite ;) That part in doom's lab was creepy, but well done. I also really liked the whole conversation he had with fury, and then with cap, those were well done, and that scene at the end where he was just messing around in doom's appartment/mansion/whatever was really funny. Personally, I thought the ending was a little bit awkward, but, trust me, I've run into a lot worse than 'a little bit awkward' in my travels. So, all in all, good job. |
ninepen chapter 6 . 11/16/2012 "Loki had broken in easily enough, drifted around the rooms, pulling out the drawers, bouncing on the four poster bed, playing with the hidden electronics and using the diamond in his watch fob to scratch his name in the corner of a window," - when I read the "diamond in his watch fob" etc. part I had to take a break to let out some serious LOL. So juvenile prankster and yet so high-class prankster, LOVE it. "A home wasn't a home without somewhere to tinker with the laws of nature. Loki understood." - brilliant, more LOL and so fitting for these two! OK, I'm going to have to stop copying-pasting lines now, ha. A-ha! I suspected that missing arc reactor was significant! But, ha! Was he spying for the Germans in the meantime? this is too fabulous. Loki being honest here (I assume) - wow, the world might not survive Loki's honesty. I wonder to what extent the Avengers have discerned any of that! "slowly teaching them to do my bidding" - -yup! |
ninepen chapter 5 . 11/16/2012 Your Avengers felt quite realistic (to movie canon, all I know!). I was especially impressed with your Steve. People so often seem to make him too child-like or overly naive or something, or too perfect. This Steve felt like a real person, and the person from the movie(s). The Steve-Loki scene is very nice. I like how Loki says very few truly personal words, but that those few words are opening up huge chasms of personal stuff that he's revealing to Steve. And I would react the same as Steve, even if this guy is giving me plans that sound *great* I'm going to be suspicious, fear he's trying to co-opt the group, fear he's got ulterior motives that are going to make me *really* regret it if I go along with these plans. Steve's journal is a clever way to skip forward in time while still letting us see the developments that took place in the meantime. Glad Thor's gaining a little insight! Nice moment with the child. That would get to anyone with a heart, and Loki's definitely still got one. I'm wondering if the arc reactor thing is going to come back up, or if that was just Loki playing a prank. And I'm sad there's only one more chapter, how can it be? |
ninepen chapter 4 . 11/15/2012 He actually got all those immunities? Hahahaha. Way to go, Loki! "Who are you to say whether I can or cannot change?" Who indeed. And let that be a lesson to us all. Ten years of Loki as an Avenger...oh boy. I'm guessing whatever's coming won't take that long! |
ninepen chapter 3 . 11/15/2012 OK, I read this one this morning but didn't have time to write a review. (Pesky job.) Loki's interaction with the MI-6 guy, darn hilarious. (I didn't get the "C" thing though...?) And then I thought it was extra ironic b/c in my head that Tom Hiddleston's Loki asking to be a citizen of his own country. My favorite bit: Loki grinned, and consumed the last of his drink, a bloshy sort of beverage, served hot. It tasted like the cure for asthma – holly leaves boiled in goat's milk. He supposed it must be good for him – there seemed no other reason to drink it. "I would like to become a citizen of your fine country." Sir John choked on his tea – evidently it was not good for you when breathed sharply up the nose – and Loki tried not to laugh too obviously, though this was the part he'd particularly enjoyed in Ottawa and Beijing, and was looking forward to when he moved on to Tokyo next. Absolutely hilarious, and I loved how you worked "oh yeah, done this twice before and doing it again" thing on the tail end of the joke which gives it such subtlety and surprise value. And reminds you that whatever Loki's game is (and I'm so curious), it ain't full of I-cannot-tell-a-lie. I was totally confused by Loki showing up to Doom, but Loki is a Man with a Plan and I'm sure I'll find out what he's up to in later chapters! (I know little about Doom, only saw Fantastic Four once a while back and never heard of the character otherwise.) Fascinating what you said separately about his relationship with Loki. |
ninepen chapter 2 . 11/15/2012 What a fascinating motivation for a (potential) redemption. I'm really intrigued. I felt for the young Loki and hope somehow things go better for him this time around. And the end again was great. "Since when has being yourself ever been enough?" I think this says a lot about who Loki is. And the last sentence, bold Loki-style arrogance with that irony that he's going to "become good" (or something) to spite his sorta enemy, excellent! |
ninepen chapter 1 . 11/15/2012 What an original concept! I thought Loki's reactions to all of this felt very realistic. And very nice chapter ending. Loki wouldn't like somebody getting in his head like that or turning his chaos (or you could go so far as to say his uniqueness) into predictability. Getting overly philosophical some (not me though) would say this would be the same as taking away his free will. Regardless, the whole thing would certainly be highly distressing! |
