Snape either never truly reformed or he was always only out fro himself. That he willingly took the mark is no surprise. That he later may've had a change of heart after betraying James and Lily to a certified psyco is debatable. He SUPPOSEDLY told Bumbleohsomore so that he would protect Lily is another thing that really needs to be investigated. Because if he did, then Bumbleohsomore FAILED. Seeing as in school both he and Snape practice passive mind reading on student, then explain how and why he DIDN'T know who the traitor in the order was. If on other other hand Bumbleohsomore DID know, then that means he's just as guilty of murder as Riddle. I believe Bumbleohsomore IS guilty of murder possibly before the fact but definitely after the fact. I also feel that James and Lily were both stupid not to've fled the country after Bumbleohsomore told them the Psyco was after them. Whether or not he told them the entire prophecy. James and Lily both knew how Tommy and his psyco followers thought, so staying, even hiding under that charm, was a very stupid idea.

Snape is evil. Just because he is obssesed with James wife it doesn't mean he is a good guy. He's guilt at he's later life is probably eating him alive. So many students suffered and future careers are destroyed because of his teaching method. He is just lusting after Lily and he doesn't care at all for lily's feeling feeling because he wants to control her. he even wants Voldemort to kill a husband and a baby so he can have Lily.
