This was such a nice take on the whole soulmate AU! Not much to say except that the ending left me wanting to read some more. It was left so open-ended, I have no idea if they’ll end up as friends or what but it was also genuinely well-written because of how no further words were needed to be said between the two of them. Their characters were very spot on, reminding me of how both of them are completely unromantic by nature and uninterested in things like fate.

I’m honestly mad at Toshiro for pushing her away like that, like, you could’ve had a chance to be acquainted with her if you hadn’t lied like that, it was also partially Karin’s fault since it’s of her free will that she chose to avoid him, but it was ultimately his fault for making things so awkward, like, seriously? Who tells a stranger(soulmate or not) for the first time speaking, that they are dating someone else already? Platonic soulmates also exist, Shiro! Gosh.

Sorry for the rant, had to speak my feelings because of how he completely slowed and almost severed an important relationship, not saying that they should start out dating, just being friends was fine by me too! Ugh, this couple makes things so torturously slow, but I guess that what makes them so compelling to read for me! haha.

I think by now, I’ve read almost ALL of your works featuring hitsukarin, and I have to say that it’s all thanks to this quarantine haha. You’ve quickly became one of my favorite authors on this site for it, your works are realistic to a point and they draw such powerful emotions from me, now, I’ll finally be on my way to read ‘Go Against The Grain’, and I heard great things from it, so I’m beyond excited! Thank you for contributing so much to this fandom and this very niche pairing! You never fail to make me smile!

This story left a bit of a twist in my chest (which attests to just how well-written it is)- all the wasted years of what could have been happiness and all because of being stubborn.. good thing fate is wise and patient.

YES THANK YOU YES YES YES I've been looking for a good HitsuKarin for a while and THIS IS PERFECT. I'm a sucker for soulmate au's and this is one of favourite pairings. :D

I find myself returning to this story multiple times after the first read. At first it was a few days, then weeks, then months, but again I'm still here, re-reading and re-savouring every word and line. I just realised this was published two years back... And it would probably sound weird to you that someone out there really loves this story two years on. For all I know, you could be thinking this story is too immature, too little intimate scenes, etc etc, yet I am here, telling you this is my favourite Hitsukarin story because it feels like...water. It's not extraordinarily passionate, and it's definitely not boring, so it's maybe because I'm some fish and fish takes to water and now I'm not making any sense aargh. This was supposed to be a cool review, but I guess things just don't go as they planned!

I think this was a refreshing plot line to the normal stories. Not all the unnecessary dramas of cheating, comforting etc. You built up a well written, clear story that was a real joy to read. Thank you. :)

You know, unlike the shoujo manga, Akai Michi, its really different and i liked it...how you change everything from the manga...In the real story, the couple will start to do things like a lover should do..but in this story, you made Toushirou do things his own way, which is saying that this thing doesn't matter to him but actually it is...just like what Toushirou would do..
Anyway I really really loved it. I also cried of happiness you know..
