I feel saaaad

How can you not become depressed when you read this T-T. It just shows how well its writen

U should really add more stuff about Steph and Cass and Helena. I 3 this series.

None of us became depressed, hm? I cried the second time I read this chapter, and keep seeing it when I blink.

WAHHHHHHH! UR SO GOOD AT WTITING, I COULD ALMOST SEE JASON BE BUIRIED! AND I READ THIS AT NIGHT SO I HAD A DREAM ABOUT IT! BWAHHHHHHHHHHHH! WAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! LITTLE JASON, DONT LEAVE!

Okay, this was very emotional, so I feel like an ass for informing you that Dick was not at Jason's funeral. He was off-planet with the Titans when Jason died, and the only mourners at the graveside were Bruce, Alfred, and the Gordons. (Barbara had been tutoring Jason; Jim just turned up for moral support, since of course he didn't know it was Robin's funeral too.) Dick actually had to learn Jason was dead through the superhero grapevine. He was incredibly angry with Bruce. There was a massive fight.

Tim, of course, got the fallout from both sides, as is his lot in life.

Oddly enough, I came to the conclusion while reading that he felt responsible for what happened to Jean-Paul Valley, Azrael, who held Batman during Knightfall, even though Dick wasn't left in charge then and in fact Bruce refused to contact him and left Tim to wrangle the poor unstable man, while he traveled the world looking for Jack Drake and a cure for his broken back. Dick was extremely bemused not to have been called in, when Az-Bats had started killing people and barricaded himself in the Batcave and forgotten he'd ever been anyone besides Batman. Poor Jean-Paul. It's not his fault what his father did to him. But Tim is the one who felt responsible for that one. Come to think of which, between Azrael and Damian, Tim has every reason to not find the Batcave a particularly safe place. People keep nearly-killing him there.

So yeah, anyway, I couldn't figure out when it was, so it makes sense it was no time in particular. Dick is the Robin Bruce has the easiest time saying the right things to, though, when they're not fighting. And definitely the only one who'd spontaneously hug him. Dick, please do not feel ashamed that you need people to reassure you. Even Bruce does sometimes, and he is psychotically independent.

All the swans I have ever known bully all spectators relentlessly for food. I had to run away from a mated pair once as a teenager because I was out of biscuits and a swan can totally break a person's bones, and they had me almost cornered between a place where the riverbank rose sharply and a tree. It was scary.

Sometimes you cannot help but write something sad. The MUSE knows best. It's better just to listen and allow it to flow. There will always be sadness and there will always be happiness. You cannot have one without the other.
