you know, i read this story years back and only now i'm commenting on it - i always go back to it because it's probably one of my favorite madoka fanfics ever! i love how you interpret the events of the story through hitomi's POV, and even so her flashback and feelings regarding kyousuke. it's so mundane and that's why it hits close home so much, and it's a melancholic yet pleasant read.

Ugh, while the struggles of the Magical Girls are truly tragic and very well deserves the sympathising of people, the kind of events that transpired in this fic can hurt just as much. Probably because it actually can hit veery close to home, a fragile and a sensitive home.
We barely know anything of Hitomi, but I have no qualms about imagining this as part of her character, especially not with the way it has been told. Everything sounds so mundane and like something that can happen in real life, without having to cut out the supernatural elements, since there aren't any in this fic (and neither in Hitomi's everyday life as far as she knows).
Your character-centric pieces has so far been my favorites. This one, along with the Homura (it addresses the way Homura sees every character) and the Mami one (the one about Mami's mindset while killing her friends in ep 10)

A lovely story, with genuinely sweet interaction between Kyousuke, Hitomi and the others. Hitomi's life is described in a very moderate and convincing way.

Really beautiful writing: the characters are accurately portrayed and you get deep into Hitomi's feelings and leave me feeling I know her much better than I did in the series. The prose is fluent and well-paced and there are very few errors (the only one I spotted was "compatriots" near the end when you meant "companions"). A charming, sad little one-shot that fits very well with the mood of this series. Thank you for sharing it!
