Guest chapter 10 . 7/13 love this so much ! From The Crimson Mage. |
AsSafeAsSnape chapter 7 . 12/11/2014 This is an amazing, wonderful, emotional story; I'd take my hat off to you, if I had one! ;) I'm sorry I haven't reviewed sooner... I've just finished chapter 7, my favourite so far, and I got to the last line... "Neither of them noticed the man standing in the street, around 4 am, looking up at the window of 221B." After the pain and suffering John has already been through, I read that line, and actually physically felt sick. I mean, my face literally dropped and my chest became painful, my stomach aching, just after I'd been smiling at the way Sherlock was caring for and protecting John. No story has ever, ever affected me this way. You've written it so beautifully and did such an amazing job! Thank you! :) |
Aoife Miranda chapter 10 . 6/20/2014 This fic was amazing. It read just like an actual episode of the series. There was action, character development, mystery, cases, action, and a lot of Sherlock and John interaction. I also feel like this explains John's adamancy that he's straight so perfectly. The show seems to play up how everyone thinks John is gay whenever he's with Sherlock for laughs... but I always felt like there was more to it. I also feel like John being abused both physically and sexually as a child explains so much about him; he joined the army so he wouldn't have to think about it, he gets himself involved in a war to forget, and goes on action-packed cases with Sherlock to keep his mind off of his past trauma. Everything John does is a way for him to avoid confronting the trauma he experienced. I like how you illustrated that here; and your writing is so compelling. It works out perfectly. Also, the fact that John wears clothing that's too big on him and unflattering to hide his body after what happened was a good tie-in to what happened to him. I also liked the ending with Sherlock buying John clothes that were more flattering on him and letting him know that it was okay for him to show off his body. :) The Johnlock moments were written so beautifully. I liked that you kept it real and that they still faced obstacles even after getting together. Ultimately, John had to be strong for himself; and while Sherlock helped him reach that realization and helped him get there, I liked that John was able to confront his past head on and take the initiative regarding that. What he did to his rapist at the end of Chapter 9 was awesome, too. This fic was incredible. Thanks for writing it! |
DemeRain chapter 10 . 4/27/2014 This is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing. |
Harriverse chapter 10 . 7/17/2013 If I had to say anything about your story, its that you made you Sherlock just too 'human'. That is NOT a bad thing. It nicely tempered your very serious plot. About your ending: YES! |
AkiraNatsume chapter 10 . 6/24/2013 Yah. More stories. More chapters please. And yes to the wedding! They have to get a happy ending. |

AntheaSarcasm chapter 3 . 5/29/2013 vise versa : vice versa ! Don't know what to say more... I like how your story goes, for the moment... |
deadwomanwalking chapter 10 . 4/21/2013 I was going to suggest a sequel if you didn't have one planned. I'd love to read more of your stories with these two, it was great and seeing them get married would be nice if you decided to go that way. Anyways I read the whole story in one day and loved every bit of it. You did very well at capturing the characters, they were in character while at the same time doing out of character things like sleeping together, it was nicely done. I liked that you made John a victem but he didn't stay that way, in the end he fought back and won his freedom from his nightmare. It was really good, so I hope you come out with the sequel soon. |
Rose O' Sharon chapter 10 . 3/11/2013 I KNEW this was going to be really good! And I knew it was going to have a strong finish too! I loved the fight scene and of course, the 'comfort' scenes, and I REALLY liked when Sherlock promised that Mycroft would make the guy disappear. :D Sometimes we just have to write what we know, no matter how unpleasant it may be, and it turns out to be a pretty cathartic experience . . . or we read something for the same reason. the realism here is pretty . . . intense and real, and it only added to the strength of the plot. Very well done indeed, and I thank you for the great read! |
Rose O' Sharon chapter 4 . 3/11/2013 As much as I'm in love with this story, I'm really really sad too. There goes my story idea. :( If i do write a story, please be assured it's not because of this one . . . I've had the same idea for the last two months now. However, that's neither here nor there. :D What I REALLY want to do is tell you how very good your plot is and how amazingly wonderful your characterization is! :D So true to character and I'm SO glad this is complete because I get to read the whole story and not have to wait for more parts! :D Thank you! I prolly won't review again until the end. :D |
Guest chapter 10 . 1/24/2013 " some sturdier shoes that would hold up better running around London." Ever functional, eh XD Enjoyed reading this :P A sequel would be fab :D I really like how you write them both. And angst and action can always slip in somewhere ;) |
Guest chapter 6 . 1/24/2013 ""Do you have ANY idea how sexy you just were?"" Sherlock would definitely find John's accurate deductions a turn-on XP |
Damelia Evenshire chapter 10 . 10/22/2012 Lovely. Absolutely lovely. I love the way this started, continued and ended. You've done the subject justice. I applaud you, good author. I applaud you. |
