Poor Kayla. I really feel for her here. I can even tolerate Caroline, whom I think is a big hypocrite. I also loathe Caroline for (I am not kidding) threatening to spank Sami IN CHURCH. She literally threatened to "turn you over my knee, big as you are".

I never even watched that scene, just read the transcript, and it sickened me as much as the scenes where Sonny & Lily ream Brenda out for burning L's ugly wedding dress.

But I digress. I hope Jack gets the help he needs in your story and am so glad you're still writing all your tales.

How I love Jo! Always have, always will. I've loved her scenes and relationship with Jack ever since I was young and was so sad when Joy Garrett passed away. :-(

Very interesting choice to have the Johnsons & Jack know of his true identity but/and still have rivalry between Jack & Steve.

Mmm...soft or crispy shells, I love tacos. I can't wait for Kayla to meet Jo and Adrienne - and I love Steve's objection to his middle name as it's very authentic.

I do love the strength you give to Kayla in this story, because back in the late '80s on the show, even Mary Beth Evans said she could be, well...weak sometimes. I can't help thinking sometimes that MBE often had even more fun playing Katherine on GH than she did Kayla back in the "Days". :-)

This terrific, fast-paced scene reminds me of a scene I always LOVED between Jennifer and Jo. Jack was trying to help Steve out of the Isabella/Marina/key mess. Jo found out Victor was involved, and when she thought Victor might be trying to lure Jack into his clutches, she got very upset. Jennifer quickly assured Jo that Jack was NOT working for VK and was trying to help Steve. It was this scene that I think first showed Jo that Jennifer was in love with Jack. Good times. :-)

You've made me like Caroline here, which is no mean task. I think Peggy Mckay is a cool, talented lady, but on DOOL Caroline has become a real sanctimonious hag. She earned my loathing after she threatened to beat her adult granddaughter Sami - in a church, no less. I admit to being biased because I had the two most loving, devoted grandmothers anyone could ever ask for, but ye Gods.

I love the "blast from the past" flavor of this story. It also reminds me of how much chemistry Stephen N. and Mary Beth Evans had together even while playing such different characters as Steve/Kayla and Stefan/Katherine on GH.

Aw Bo, why don't you calm down? This reminds me sorta Luis on "Passions" - at one point, he was so against Teresa's love for Ethan that he was going to send her (!) to a convent school in South America or somewhere - against her AND Pilar's wishes! I don't know who he thinks he is, but he's not Kayla's dad! But I do love this blast to the past. :)

Man, between Bo and Jack, Steve and Kayla sure have some brother issues going on in this story. :)

I'm glad Kayla's standing up for herself here since she was always the heroine on DOOL. She was great as a minx as Katherine on GH opposite Steven Nichol's Stefan, though. :)

I really love the authenticity of Kayla's stubborness of wanting Steve, despite his ad infinitum protests that he doesn't deserve her.

Also love the authenticity of her attraction to him despite his patch. It reminds me of the scene where she's comforting him after some kids bullied little Benji for being deaf. Steve was down on himself for being (As he thought) incomplete and Kayla told him she loved him just the way she was. :)

I can't help asking - is this before or while Kayla was engaged to Jack when he was so sick with Hodgkin's disease?

I love how this tale isn't afraid to show Steve's darker side. I think many fans would love to forget that he was initially hired to - and did - terrify Kayla by trashing her apartment and with menacing phone calls.

But your Steve here is definitely feeling his demons, and I respect that. :)
