The townspeople had all been tricked by the Whore of Babylon who'd been occupying Leah Gideon's body until Dean had killed her, proving himself to be a "Servant of Heaven" and opening up a can of worms Sam didn't want to face at the moment. This would be yet more amusing if it was Sam who had killed her in this story.

I absolutely loved by the way how you integrated Michael and Lucifer with Dean and Sam. You actually came up with logical ways for this story to happen.

Loved it! Reminds me of the Harry/Voldemort version of this (the seventh horecrux). liked this better because the level of denial was super funny.
