Lovely. I really like this...the interconnected nature of their risk-taking here, their concern more for the other than either for herself, Jane sharing that it was, at least, better not to be facing this alone this time, and that she could offer that Maura wouldn't have to face it without someone knowing, and that wanting to protect Maura had given her the push to fight for them both. This also deals nicely with a) how they got out of the hospital so quickly, and b) why there was a bloody birthday party despite all that went down. Lovely piece.

This is a beautifully written story and a lovely insight into what might have happened after the episode finished. Nice work.
