That was amazing. Really. I could've stopped at the lemon around a gold brick, and still thought it was amazing, since I love Douglas Adams, but John doing (or trying to do) an angel was pretty great.

Priceless! The best oneshot I've read in a long while.

I loved the vivid language and the detailed descriptions; funny, enjoyable and original. And the story had that certain flow to it: I didn't even register reading it, it just sort of happened. The writing was extremely captivating in it's style, I don't think I even as much as blinked... which is good, considering there's angels involved ;)

Speaking of which, the plot was amazing as well. Using the Weeping Angels was brilliant! The story works without knowing anything about them, but it's a delicious inside joke, an intertextual treat to those who do. The same could be said about the Judoon, and the Sontarans. And the cat.

Also, the situation was very realistic: I could easily see this happening. The interaction between Jack and John was very much in-character, the dialogue was hilarious and so them. Jack's pathetic attempts to explain his sudden return from the dead made me laugh aloud. "I'm a wizard?" Come on, man...

I'm glad John finally got what he wanted :)

But that line... Oh, that line.

"It looked like the saddest, loneliest bastard in the universe."

How you managed to write something so humorous, so light and so relaxed, and with just one line turn it into something so sad that I felt like crying, I'll never know. And then the moment was over, and the story continued: the moods changed in quick, uncalculated and stunning succession. But that's it, that's the essence of Torchwood, that's what it's all about. Funny and so fucking sad.

In my opinion, you created something perfect.
