You know I love the way your write Sherlock and John, but I also keep marvelling at how well you manage to get into the heads of secondary characters. Your Mrs H is absolutely spot on!

The final lines of the first scene are a total punch to the gut.

This line is a particular favourite, too:
"Because for the first time in what seems like years, the near-empty house is ringing with the cacophony of voices and creaks and moans and tears and laughs and thuds and clatters that all crescendo into the beautiful symphony wich is a Love of Life."

Because "the empty house" from "The Empty House" was never the one *opposite* 221B in my mind, either.

And of course, "I'm your landlady, not your stunt-double" absolutely takes the biscuit.

Congrats also on sticking to the 221B format throughout! I hadn't even noticed the structure at first. Now I'm really in awe how you manage to harness your creativity without detracting in the slightest from the flow of the story!

Now I want to see a story where Mrs. Hudson has to pretend to be Sherlock or fill in for him. It would be interesting.

Your landlady, not your stunt-double! haha :D Refreshing to read something from Mrs. Hudson's perspective for a change, and you did a really good job! Also it helped my feels to read a non-angsty version of Sherlock coming back, I like how you made that a lot less dramatic than usual :D

Awwwww. The ending's so sweet...

This was wonderful! I loved that we got to see the full spectrum of John Watson: the grief and rage as well as the kittens and jam. The row between John and Sherlock made me laugh out loud, and the new bullet holes in the wall nearly brought me to tears.

Any chance we'll get an explanation of why Mrs. Hudson was moving mannequins for snipers...?
