Please write more! I loved this one-shot but I'd love to read the backstory of Kako's birth and perhaps Mako's marriage to Asami.

I'm sure a lot of people told you this so far, but this is an amazing fic. Although I usually stay away from any kind of angst, especially if it involves a character dying, I couldn't help myself. I though it was a pretty interesting but again full of emotion. I do hope you're planning to write more because it would be a shame for the talent you have to go to waste.

Where'd you find the name Kako? Sounds kinda like a mixture of Mako and Korra. Very vaguely though.
