Reviews for Stopping The Storm
Ash the Aura Guardian chapter 1 . 8/7
I respect the time, effort and care you poured into this monster of a fic, but...honestly, the whole thing was a bit of a joke. Just looking at what we've seen from the anime, Mewtwo is vastly more powerful than any Legendary 'mon we've seen since. Rayquaza is definitely not that strong, and as we've seen from the Deoxys movie (and later, since we know TR has captured and experimented on Rayquaza). Mew, of course, is by far weaker than you portrayed it here; it was just evenly matching Mewtwo in the First Movie. These 'millions of years old' Pokémon were barely a match for something that's been alive for presumably less than a year.

Plus, it's a bit hard to buy your characterization of Mew when it was just as much of a bigot as english Mewtwo in the original Japanese movie, whereas Mewtwo was decidedly less horrible in the Japanese version than he was in the dub.

As for the fight itself, it honestly felt a bit repetitive after a certain point, but I guess it's not really possible to write such a lengthy battle without it getting boring midway.

Lastly, I have to say that your entire story felt like a bit of a hatefic. Mewtwo is undeniably a Pokémon with monstrous strength. It was able to create a massive storm just by waving its hands around a few times, and it's virtually immune to attacks tossed around by normal Pokémon. Even (a relatively depowered) Arceus took damage against Pikachu's Thunderbolt; Mewtwo deflected a Gyarados' Hyper Beam like it was nothing. That's not even talking about how poorly-written Mewtwo was in this. Honestly, it seems like this story's entire point was to portray Mewtwo in the worst possible light you could.
Jigmario chapter 1 . 6/13
Mewtwo floated through a valley, searching for a wounded presence. he had found peace in the job, and Mew in her kindness had helped him master his power. A long time ago, he was bitter and cold towards all due to the circumstances of his birth. But he found the idea irrelevant. He now knew it was what you did with the gift of life that determined who you are in this world. He smiled, and turned to aid a hurt human protecting a Pikachu from some Fearow.
Thomas the underlander chapter 1 . 5/21
Hello there, It is I Thomas your favourite something huggable mudkip and sometimes op groudon. I must say I love this one shot, brilliant job the battle was very well done and you had just the right amount of lore thrown in. I like the end especially since the legendaries reminded me of people from the server. In particular rayquazza reminding me of shadow. So basically saying no flaws jumped out at me but I tended to be quite tired when reading this one shot. So well done 10/10 loved it.
X4DR chapter 1 . 10/16/2019
This was really good. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I also have a similar take on the legendaries being thousands upon thousands years old..I just really disagree with most of the comments talking about Stats like this is apart of the games.
lolking21 chapter 1 . 1/21/2019
more? part 2? this effort was AMAZING it would take me a whole day to read this. GREAT EFFORT BUDDY. but Mewtwo dodges too much in the nick of time this and that. He should get hit more
Baconicon chapter 1 . 6/16/2018
Brilliant. Filled with action and a great ending, I personally enjoy this one shot. Nice.
MichaelNS chapter 1 . 5/20/2018
One word. Amazing. Over and out.
NTD Prime chapter 1 . 5/20/2018
This was pretty lame. The summary should just be whiny mortal tries to fight an arrogant god. There was never any sense of an epic battle. Just a couple dozen thousand words of Rayquaza going "well I could crush you but..." You can talk about all this power they have but there's no consequences to any Pokemon or humans and as is established almost every other paragraph Mewtwo can't beat Rayquaza making this whole thing serve no purpose. The summary promised a battle and all we got was a tantrum and a lecture.
Delta4Phoenix chapter 1 . 4/12/2018
First: Cool. Second: A bit long for one chapter but I got it done in approximately two hours. Three: Lugia grabbed the trainers using his psychic powers and dropped them head-first into the water near the shore.
FyreDrakon chapter 1 . 7/13/2017
I love how you completely disregarded stats; Mewtwo and Rayquaza are evenly matched with base stats of 680, while Mew has stats of 600. The match should have been more than even.

Gerat one shot
RPH chapter 1 . 3/2/2017
One of the best stories i have read, thanks for the joy of reading
Gaby501 chapter 1 . 2/19/2017
Excellent! Awesome! I can't even find words to describe it. I did think that Mewtwo and Rayquaza would have had a better battle considering stats but Rayquaza being millions of years old gives Ray such a huge advantage. I was going to bash this story for being so one sided but it makes sense that Ray beat the life out of Mewtwo. Millions of years can give you lots of experience in battle and Mewtwo getting beaten like that makes sense when you consider how old he is. He just does not have the battle experience Ray has. I'm willing to bet if he did, Mewtwo would beat up Ray. Anyways, Awesome! Stay awesome, keep writing awesome.
