I resent like hell that the show never once touched on this. they should have comforted each other, talked to each other about it. yet it was completely ignored and Elena went off with Stefan instead. Horrible how that played out. If only it could have gone down like this instead. Just another examples of ways the writing has ruined some really important things between these characters. You should write the show instead. :) thanks for this.

I wished this happened or happens. I agree they were a family the four of them and it was totally disregarded. Stefan doesn't even know the dynamic.. He was gone for all of it. Damon and Elena need to acknowledge their loss to each other and comfort each other. Let's hope it happens. :) I'm adding this to my favorites list. Do you plan on adding to this story? If so I would love to follow it.

What a beautiful O/S that covers all the story that the show refuses to address. You broke my heart with this line and it sums up Damon's isolation perfectly:

"I still have you."

How can Elena not love him after that? Loved Damon being open and honest about the pain of losing his best friend.

honestly, all i need from 3x21 is for elena and damon to hug. elena finding damon at the boarding house sitting on the couch and... just a quiet moment when she just goes, sits down next to him, hugs him, presses her head to his chest and he actuallyhugs her back and they just sit there not speaking, because theres no need to. they both understand. i wanna see the moment when damon actually hugs elena back. fingers crossed for 3x21
